Our View: The exact nature of the illness is unknown right now, but it is causing Chase intense headaches and numbness on the left side of his body. He was very popular during his days as an enforcer in St. Louis, and continues to be as a radio analyst.

The Minnesota Wild have named Mikko Koivu their captain, according to HockeyBuzz.com. However, the team rotates the "C", so he will be one of a handful of players to wear it.

"If Jason Spezza doesn't learn how to be a pro, (the Senators are) going nowhere ... And the last thing -- just shut up and play. I watch his interviews and it's like he has three Stanley Cup rings already. You haven't won squat. Play," said Tortorella.

Our View: Tortorella has won a Stanley Cup, but he was also fired from the Lightning last year, and replaced by ESPN analyst Barry Melrose. Spezza has played two games this season, and three points on a goal and two assists.

Our View: The 36-year-old Tkachuk will return to his more comfortable left wing spot after two seasons seeing action at center. He will play on a line with rookie T.J. Oshie and David Backes, and though he probably won't be a 30-goal scorer, he should be good for about 25, depending on how he gels with Oshie.
Legace ready to goFriday 10/10, 9:21 AM CT
Blues goalie Manny Legace says he detests the preseason, and he says he is ready to prove he is the team's No. 1 goalie despite their acquisition of goalie Chris Mason, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. "I've got to earn it, too. I can't sit here and say, 'I'm the No. 1 guy' ... you've got to earn it. Mason is a No. 1 guy in the league, too. If I don't play well, he'll be right there," Legace said.

Our View: The Blues brought Mason in because they had no legit backup last year, and Legace clearly wore down after a first half that included an All-Star appearance. Legace should remain the top netminder, but he will not play 66 games this year, as he did last season.

Our View: Peverly played 33 games last season with the Preds, scoring five goals and tallying five assists. His production should rise playing on a top line, but likely not enough to contribute on fantasy teams.
