NEWSBREAKERS NASCAR
Almirola to race at the GlenMonday 8/4, 7:06 PM CT
Aric Almirola will be back in action for the first time since New Hampshire Motor Speedway. In that race, he finished 23rd and bettered the other Rookie of the Year (ROTY) contenders.

Our View: Mark Martin is not a fan of the road races, but with several strong road ringers in the Centurion Boats at the Glen, Almirola is best left on the sidelines.
Fellows in No. 01 at the GlenMonday 8/4, 3:32 PM CT
Ron Fellows will campaign the No. 01 DEI Chevrolet at Watkins Glen as Regan Smith moves into a fifth car, according to SceneDaily.com.

Our View: Fellows is fresh off a victory at Montreal and the No. 01 car is in need of a strong finish to pad their standing in the points.
Ragan best sophomore againMonday 8/4, 12:25 PM CT
With his fifth-place finish, David Ragan was the best sophomore for the fourth consecutive week. That was also his fourth top-15 in a row.

Our View: The Young Gun has become the best dark horse on a weekly basis, which should put him on fantasy owners' radar screens in Michigan.
Pocono: Rookies' best race yetMonday 8/4, 10:27 AM CT
The Sunoco Red Cross Pennsylvania 500 was the best race yet for the combined rookie class. Including pre-rookie Chad McCumbee's 17th, their average finish was 23.0.

Our View: Michael McDowell, Regan Smith and Sam Hornish Jr. finished nose to tail in 24th, 25th and 26th respectively.
