David Steckel has signed a one-year extension with the Capitals, according to the Sports Network. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Our View:The 26-year-old center is now signed with Washington through 2009-10. He provides depth while working on the lower lines, but isn't likely to hold much fantasy value next season.

Chris Clark, the captain of the Washington Capitals said he has had no setbacks from his groin injury that cost him most of last year, and he will be ready for training camp, according to the Washington Post.

Our View:Clark scored 30 goals in 2006-2007, and if he can maintain his health, he could be a useful fantasy player this season.

Defenseman Shaone Morrisonn signed a one-year deal with the Washington Capitals, according to the AP.

Our View:Morrisonn is a typical stay-at-home defenseman and has little fantasy value.
