Jason Pominville and the Sabres continue to make slow progress toward getting a deal signed, according to the Buffalo News. “[Completing a deal] before training camp is what we’re working on,” agent Normand Dupont said by phone from Laval, Quebec. “That’s the goal."

Our View: Pominville is entering the final year of a deal that will pay him $1.375 million a year after he scored 27 times and racked up 80 points. With all the defections the team has suffered of late, it would appear that Pominville is in a great spot to cash in. He should be drafted in the early rounds given his point-per-game production.
