The Columbus Dispatch reports that Blue Jackets general manager Scott Howson said the franchise has no intention of sending Nikita Filatov to juniors at this time. The IIHF announced that Filatov was eligible to play Canadian junior hockey on Wednesday. The Sudbury Wolves, of the Ontario Hockey League, had drafted Filatov with the No. 1 overall pick.

Our View:Filatov scored a goal for Jackets in his NHL debut and has scored three goals for minor-league Syracuse. He will likely remain with Syracuse in the AHL for the time being.

Nikita Filatov was sent to the Blue Jackets' AHL affiliate in Syracuse on Tuesday, according to Sports Illustrated.

Our View:Filatov has not registered a point since scoring a goal in his NHL debut on October 17th. He will likely spend the remainder of the year in the AHL. If Filatov isn't called back up, this year won't count towards his years of NHL service, therefore, keeping him cheaper for longer.

Nikita Filatov was a healthy scratch Saturday, according to the Columbus Dispatch. The 18-year-old played just four shifts Friday and has played sparingly since the home opener. "He's a player on the learning curve, and he's still learning what it is to be an NHL player," coach Ken Hitchcock said.

Our View:Filatov is an immensely talented player and should be a star in due time, but for now he's best left on the waiver wire for fantasy purposes.
