The Jets confirmed on Tuesday that David Clowney will miss "some significant time" due to his collarbone injury, the New York Daily News reports.

Our View:The Jets needed someone to step up alongside Laveranues Coles and Jerricho Cotchery, and Clowney was turning into that guy. It's bad timing for the young wideout.

Larry Brackins, WR

The New York Jets have signed former Bucs fifth-round pick and Arena League wide receiver Larry Brackins, according to Scout.com.

Our View:Brackins had a very good season for the Arena League champion Philadelphia Soul this past year, snaring 56 passes for 786 yards and 20 touchdowns. He will fight to make the roster, so his fantasy prospects are very limited.

Brett Favre, QB

Jets quarterback Brett Favre would like for head coach Eric Mangini to shed some of the offense, making it easier for him to digest, according to the New York Post. "I had a long talk with Eric. I don't want to think, I want to react. There's got to be some middle ground there," Favre said.

Our View:Favre has had trouble because the Jets and Packers use some of the same terminology, only with different meanings. Favre is a viable option as a fantasy signal-caller, though the returns may be greater a few games into the season, when he has full grasp of the offense.
