The Indianapolis Star indicates that Philip Wheeler will undergo knee surgery after aggravating an old injury.

Our View:Coach Tony Dungy is hopeful he will only miss a couple of weeks. He projects to be a future starter at strong-side linebacker.

The Colts have inked third-round pick Philip Wheeler (Georgia Tech), according to the Indianapolis Star. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Our View:Wheeler displays excellent speed in pursuit and has a knack for making plays in coverage. He could challenge for a starting job at strongside linebacker in the future.
