October 30, 2008 Left tackle Sam Baker underwent discectomy surgery on his lower back on Thursday in California and it was termed a success by the team, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution. "I'm happy to have the procedure behind me," Baker said in statement released by the team. "I look forward to getting back on the field with my teammates as soon as possible." Our View:Todd Weiner will move in to the starting tackle slot with Baker out for a while. |

October 30, 2008 Atlanta offensive tackle Sam Baker will have a surgical procedure Thursday that will attempt to alleviate the pain in his hip, according to the Our View:Baker is out for an indefinite period of time, and it would not be out of the question for his season to be over. Todd Weiner will be the team's starting left tackle in Baker's absence. |
