Miller had a career day on Sunday, catching five passes for 95 yards and a touchdown.

Our View:Maybe this will be a wakeup call for the tight end. He was considered a sleeper by many before the season but had struggled this season up until Week 4 and even failed to make a catch in Week 3.

Zach Miller was the star of the night for the Raiders Friday, catching four passes for 48 yards, which including a terrific 10-yard touchdown grab.

Our View:The touchdown pass came from JaMarcus Russell, who has developed a nice rapport with Miller in his brief work with him.

Zach Miller looked good during the team OTA on Thursday, as he made a couple of solid receptions on seam routes and over the middle, according to the Contra Costa Times.

Our View:Miller developed a nice chemistry with quarterback JaMarcus Russell at the end of their rookie season in 2007, and Miller racked up 44 receptions for 444 yards and three touchdowns. He should make a bigger impact in his sophomore campaign, and his fantasy stock is on the rise.

The Raiders have handed the starting tight end job to rookie Zach Miller, the Oakland Tribune confirms. John Madsen and Tony Stewart will be his top backups.

Zach Miller has been impressive thus far in camp and is looking to seize the starting job. "He's great," head coach Lane Kiffin tells the Oakland Tribune. "He's everything we thought, as far as a competitor, the way he works, the way he is in the classroom. He comes out here and rarely ever does he make a mental mistake."
