Newsbreakers
November 16, 2008
Dwayne Bowe had seven receptions for 53 yards and two touchdowns in the Week 11 loss to New Orleans.

Our View:Bowe, who has scored three touchdowns in the past three games, continues to represent a solid No. 2 fantasy receiver in all formats.
November 2, 2008
Wide receiver Dwayne Bowe caught only two balls for 29 yards, but one of them resulted in a seven-yard touchdown reception in the Week 9 loss to Tampa Bay.

Our View:The 29 yards represented a season low total for Bowe, who scored his first touchdown since Week 3.

Dwayne Bowe's 102 yard effort in Week 8 was his most productive outing of the season and he is now 23 catches away from setting a Chiefs record for most receptions in a player first two seasons (133), according to the Kansas City Star.

Our View:Bowe has hauled in five or more passes in six of seven outings this year and will blow past the reception record as long as he stays healthy despite the team's less than impressive work by whomever is throwing the ball.
October 19, 2008
Wide receiver Dwayne Bowe hauled in seven receptions for 86 yards in the Week 7 loss to Tennessee.

Our View:Bowe, who has posted five or more receptions in five of six games this season, would be a superstar with a legitimate NFL quarterback under center. Even with the shoddy quarterback play, Bowe is on pace for 90 receptions, 1,092 yards and five touchdowns this season.
September 14, 2008
Dwayne Bowe compiled six receptions for 90 yards in Sunday's home loss to the Oakland Raiders.

Our View:Considering how poorly Kansas City performed as a team on Sunday, Bowe turned in a respectable performance this week.
September 11, 2008
Dwayne Bowe dropped four passes in last Sunday's close loss to the Patriots, but the team expects him to bounce back fine, according to the KC Star. Coach Herman Edwards said, "We had a long talk and I contend that this week, he’ll do much better because he has to, because he’s that kind of player. We’re going to throw him the ball because he’s one of the guys that can make plays."

Our View:Bowe led all rookie receivers in catches (70) and yards (995) last season, and fantasy owners should not fear him suffering a sophomore slump. He may have dropped four passes, but also hauled in five receptions for 49 yards and a touchdown.
September 10, 2008
Second-year receiver Dwayne Bowe dropped four passes in the Chiefs game against the Patriots on Sunday, according to Sporting News Today.

Our View:Bowe still had a nice game, with five catches for 49 yards and a touchdown, but it could have been so much better if not for the drops. No doubt fantasy owners counting on Bowe need him to secure the ball with more consistency.
September 7, 2008
Dwayne Bowe caught five passes for 49 yards and a touchdown in the season opener against the Patriots.

Our View:Bowe caught three of his passes, including his score, shortly after Damon Huard replaced an injured Brodie Croyle. The second-year receiver might be better off if the veteran passer stuck around as the starter.

The Chiefs are going to play the Patriots Sunday with only three wide receivers, according to the KC Star. Dwayne Bowe, Devard Darling, and Jeff Webb will be the only trio available, as Will Franklin and Maurice Price did not practice.

Our View:This shouldn't be a big deal, as offensive coordinator loves to run the ball and feature a conservative short passing game, and the team would be much more concerned if Tony Gonzalez was out.

Chan Gailey isn't ready to turn around and go home, according to the KC Star, not even after he's had the chance to watch on video an entire season of Chiefs offense. This is a man who likes a challenge. The loss of five regulars won't stop the Chiefs new offensive coordinator from looking at the KC offense as half full. After all he has six returning starters -- running back Larry Johnson, tight end Tony Gonzalez, wide receiver Dwayne Bowe, offensive linemen Brian Waters and Damion McIntosh and even quarterback Brodie Croyle -- Gailey sees the positive. "I see some guys that have some ability to make plays," Gailey said. "What you can't do is just be shooting that scattergun out there and hoping something hits. There's got to be an approach on how you use each of those guys. None of those guys will be used exactly how everybody in the stands would expect. We've got to have a plan." The process starts in earnest today with the beginning of the Chiefs' offseason program. The most intriguing of the offensive returnees will be second-year receiver Dwayne Bowe and his role in the Gailey offense. Regardless of the percentage of running plays to passing, without Eddie Kennison (released) Bowe figures to be in line for a 1000 yard season as the teams' No. 1 wide out.
