Brandon Marshall has set lofty goals for 2008, according to CBS4Denver.com. Marshall wants to catch 140 passes this season, and will only have 15 games to reach his goal. Marshall said he is going to try his hardest to stay mentally and physically in the game while he serves his one game suspension.

Our View:Marshall reached a season-best 102 receptions in 2007, and personally believes he can shatter that mark in 2008. The most receptions ever racked up in a single season is 143, set by Marvin Harrison back in 2002 with Indianapolis.

Brandon Marshall had his suspension reduced to one game on Thursday as Roger Goddell lowered what had possibly been a two to three game hiatus, according to the Rocky Mountain News.

Our View:This is a great bounty for Marshall owners who will now be without him for only one game. Marshall has been arrested three times in the past year but the league determined that Marshall's explanation of those incidents, combined with his efforts off the field, were sufficient to lower his time on the sidelines.

Broncos receiver Brandon Marshall was not at practice today, but instead was in New York for his appeal hearing at the NFL offices, according to the Denver Post.

Our View:Marshall received a three-game suspension from commissioner Roger Goodell for violating the league's personal conduct policy. Goodell indicated he would reduce the suspension to two games if Marshall maintained contact with a league-appointed counselor and avoided further legal trouble. The appeal, which will not be heard by Goodell, seeks a further reduction to his suspension. Marshall was to be accompanied in his appeal hearing by his attorney, Harvey Steinberg. As soon as we receive word of the league's decision, we will pass it along to you.

The Broncos are optimistic that receiver Brandon Marshall will have his three-game suspension cut to just two games and possibly to just one game, according to Mike Klis of the Denver Post.

Our View:Marshall’s lawyer, Harvey Steinberg, will travel to the league offices and make the case for cutting the penalty. While officially notifying Marshall of his three-game suspension by letter, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell indicated he would knock off a game if the Broncos' star receiver met two simple conditions. Condition No. 1: Marshall had to maintain regular communications with a New York-based, league-appointed counselor. Condition No. 2: Marshall essentially can't have any more run-ins with the police. The Post reports he has done both and that should get him down to two games. Steinberg hopes he can get it down to one game by demonstrating a need for lenenancy, and Goodell has compromised on such matters in the past. We'll keep you posted

Brandon Marshall broke loose for a 49-yard touchdown in Friday's preseason battle against the Packers, according to the Rocky Mountain News. He finished the game with two receptions for a game-high 71 yards. Marshall has two of the starters' three receiving touchdowns in the preseason, and his 10 receptions in three games easily leads the team's wide receivers.

Our View:Even with the suspension, Marshall is worthy of being drafted as a No. 1 fantasy receiver. He will be worth the wait and pay dividends when he returns.
