It looks like Alex Smith will do his best to return to action this weekend, according to the St. Petersburg Times. Smith has missed the past two games with an ankle injury and probably will end up a game-time call.

Bucs head coach Jon Gruden is not optimistic tight end Alex Smith will return from his ankle injury this week, according to the St. Petersburg Times. Smith hasn’t played since suffering the injury in Week 6.

Smith added that he doesn't expect to miss any game action, so he should be good to go for the Bucs' next game, barring a setback.
