Jason Campbell is the only starting quarterback who is still yet to throw an interception this season, according to the Washington Post. He has registered 179 passing attempts, with a solid 96.2 efficiency rating.

Our View:He is averaging 210 passing yards over six games, with a total of six touchdown passes. Campbell can be considered a solid spot starter.
October 5, 2008
Jason Campbell has not thrown an interception in his last 175 straight pass attempts. The streak has set a Redskins record that was previously held by Joe Theismann, according to the Washington Post.

Our View:Campbell doesn't have eye-popping numbers but has six touchdown passes to no interceptions. Those type of numbers should get some consideration for a start on fantasy teams.
September 28, 2008
Campbell had an excellent game in Week 4 vs. Dallas, completing 20-of-31 passes for 231 yards and two touchdowns.

Our View:The ultra-efficient Campbell now has six touchdown passes and no interceptions this season. He is going unnoticed by many but might be worth starting by fantasy owners due to his consistency.
September 26, 2008
Jason Campbell finally is starting to feel comfortable in a offense after switching systems so frequently in his football career, according to The Star Telegram. “You look at a lot of quarterbacks in the National Football League who have been in the same system, year in and year out, they usually have great success and they’re usually at the top of their game,” Campbell said. “The reason for that is because they have that stability.

Our View:Campbell has looked really strong so far as he hasn't thrown an interception while completing over 65% of his passes for a Skins offense that is improving. He may not be a QB1, but there are fewer secondary options that are playing as well as Campbell right now.
September 21, 2008
Jason Campbell completed 22-of-30 passes for 193 yards and two touchdowns against no interceptions in the Week 3 victory over Arizona.

Our View:Campbell is obviously getting more comfortable in the West Coast offense. Last week he passed for 321 yards, this week he completes 73.3 percent of his passes and throws two touchdown passes.
September 14, 2008
Jason Campbell bounced back from a poor Week 1 outing with a nice effort against the Saints Sunday, as he completed 24-of-36 passes for 321 yards and a touchdown.

Our View:The Saints secondary was really banged up today, so Campbell's numbers aren't as impressive as they look on the surface. Still, it's nice to see him improve upon last week's debacle.
September 4, 2008
Jason Campbell looked indecisive Thursday night completing 15-of-27 passes for only 133 yards against the Giants. However, Campbell did manage to toss a 12-yard TD to Santana Moss with time winding down in the first-half. This would prove to be Washington's only score as they fell 16-7.

Our View:Campbell needs to make faster decisions and develop a quicker release. Until this happens expect a lot of inconsistent play from this young QB.
September 2, 2008
Redskins quarterback Jason Campbell said he is disappointed with rookie wide receivers Malcolm Kelly and Devin Thomas, and that they need to step up, according to ESPN.com. "I told them this was the real deal. They needed to show up on time for meetings and to study. We need them out there," he said.

Our View:The two second-round picks have not been good in the preseason, dealing with injuries and an inability to learn the offense. Campbell is trying to mold himself into an upper echelon quarterback, and many fantasy owners are expecting the same thing. Kelly and Thomas will need to perform for that to happen.
August 28, 2008
Jason Campbell had a brutal night on Thursday as he was just 1-for-4 for three yards and an interception as he was unable to lead the 'Skins to any offense at all in three series under center. Later in the game, Colt Brennan appeared and went 13-for-18 for 119 yards.

Our View:Campbell is the key to the redskins offense this year in Jim Zorn's new offense. Campbell is a solid QB2 heading into the season, tonight's effort notwithstanding.
July 29, 2008
The Washington Post reports that Jim Zorn was very impressed with how quarterback Jason Campbell looked on Tuesday, making decisive throws and showing a willingness to unload the ball to a particular area even if a receiver was not entirely in the clear. "Jason Campbell today was lights out," Zorn said after the morning practice. "He pushed through a lot of decisions."

Our View:This is great news for those considering Campbell as a late round backup quarterback selection. He is entering his second season as the starter in Washington and has a good amount of weapons surrounding him. Fantasy-wise, he is on the cusp of becoming a top-20 quarterback.
June 26, 2008
Jason Campbell is looking comfortable and could have a successful season in new head coach Jim Zorn's offense, reports ESPN.com. Campbell was successful running a similar offense in college at Auburn.

Our View:Campbell was making great progress before injuring his knee in week 13 of the 2007 NFL season. He completed 60% of his passes and had 12 touchdowns compared to 11 interceptions. If he can improve a bit under Zorn, Campbell will be a legitimate option as a fantasy quarterback.
June 2, 2008
Jason Campbell is fully recovered from the hamstring ailment that plagued him during early May workouts, according to the Washington Post. He said, "I don't have any problems with the hamstring. It's something that's behind me."

Our View:Campbell has had trouble staying healthy, but can post solid numbers when physically intact, and you have to like his fantasy potential in the Redskins' new West Coast system. He will be closely monitored through training camp, and could prove to be a late-round steal on draft day, assuming his hamstring issue is really behind him.
May 27, 2008
Jason Campbell - the perennial quarterback of the future - has two years remaining on his rookie contract and the Washington Redskins have yet to open any sort of contract talks with him, according to the Washington Post.

Our View:Campbell remains something of an unknown commodity due to injuries and the constant changing of the offensive scheme in Washington. If a team knows it has a franchise quarterback, then they jump on an extension early, but it appears the organization is still in evaluation mode with Campbell.
May 8, 2008
Quarterback Jason Campbell said he expects to be 100 percent in a couple of weeks, according to the Washington Times. "I just pulled my hamstring a little bit," said Campbell, who last year missed the final three-plus regular-season games and the wild-card loss at Seattle with a dislocated left kneecap. "I won't be running for a while."

Our View:Campbell tweaked his hamstring in the Redskins’ final mini-camp practice session. He is expected to be ready for organized team activities, set to kickoff on June 2.
May 7, 2008
Washington QB Jason Campbell has suffered what the team believes to be a minor hamstring injury, according to the Washington Post.

Our View:Coach Jim Zorn told reporters, "He just felt it grab, it didn't pull all the way. He was feeling his hamstrings all along, and I think it's because I have him bending his knees more to stay at one level while dropping back." The team does not believe the injury to be serious and will withhold him from team activities until further notice.
May 7, 2008
Quarterback Jason Campbell tweaked his hamstring during Wednesday's practice, according to ESPN. Head coach Jim Zorn said Campbell's legs have been feeling the effects of practicing a more compressed stance, something the coach hopes will give the quarterback more maneuverability. "I have him sinking down a little bit," Zorn said. "It's a change, and so I was kind of excited about it -- not that he tweaked his hamstring but just the fact that different things are happening."

Our View:Campbell will have plenty of time to get healthy, as Wednesday was the last of three offseason practices that supplemented the weekend minicamp. The Redskins won't practice again until June 2.
May 5, 2008
Jason Campbell fits the profile to be the Washington Redskins quarterback; however, this match is not apparent because of his prototype size or live arm, but due to the fact that he is familiar with the West Coast scheme, according to USA Today. "I ran the West Coast my senior year at Auburn," Campbell said after the first minicamp practice on Friday. "A lot of the things we're doing, I've seen it before."

Our View:Campbell, 26, is quarterbacking in his seventh offensive system in nine years. He has already been named the starter, and is currently being remolded by head coach Jim Zorn, who is working with Campbell on his footwork and the verbiage of the new playbook.
May 2, 2008
New head coach Jim Zorn admits that he would like to have more of the offense in place at this point, but that learning how to be a head coach and preparing for last week’s draft got in the way of him achieving that goal, according to Pro Football Weekly. As a result, Zorn will offer up a “minicamp book” of offensive plays that the team will incorporate into this weekend’s five practices. Zorn said that base of plays should be a good foundation for rookie players such as receivers Devin Thomas and Malcolm Kelly and tight end Fred Davis, once they rejoin the team during organized training activities later in the offseason.

Our View:Zorn is implementing his flavor of the West Coast system for the passing game, which will be integrated with the running scheme of the previous regime.

The Washington Redskins, sporting a new coach and a plethora of needs to address, have apparently identified the supporting cast for their talented young passer, Jason Campbell , as the most significant need to address in this year's NFL Draft. The Redskins found position with their picks to target the top receivers in this year's crop of incoming rookies, nabbing Michigan State's Devin Thomas (ranked by many as the top target available for hire in this year's draft) with the 3rd pick of the 2nd round, followed by selection of USC TE Fred Davis (one of the top offensive players at his position in the draft) with the 17th pick of the 2nd round and Oklahoma WR Malcolm Kelly with the 20th pick of the same round.

Our View:That's three top targets added with three 2nd-round picks. The Davis pick is rather intriguing with Chris Cooley, one of the top offensive tight ends in the NFL, already in the fold and proven to work well with Campbell. It appears the Skins will be using new offensive schemes that put two short-range targets in play, indicating a new emphasis on passing. The new offensive scheme (Campbell's third in as many years) is sure to present a challenge for the young passer, but the new addition of speedy targets shows the team is in his corner and presenting him with an environment he should enjoy.
April 24, 2008
Quarterback Jason Campbell has credited head coach Jim Zorn with making mechanical adjustments in his throwing motion that have helped him in passing drills during the Washington Redskins' voluntary offseason workout program, according to the Washington Post. "When I make statements about how I'm changing Jason, it's not to compare with what has been done in the past," Zorn said. "I really get in trouble, and I've gotten in trouble on comparison questions, because somebody has not done it right. But it's just philosophy, so I've done a couple of things. He's so tall [6 feet 5]. Instead of him standing tall the whole time, I have him compressed a little bit, just to bend a little bit and give him the opportunity to move laterally quicker than maybe what he's done in the past. I'm glad he would comment on those little things. They're going to help us and we're going to make plays."

Our View:Temper your expectations for Campbell, who is learning his third different offensive scheme in the past four seasons. The West Coast offense takes time to master, so the organization is expected to lean on the running game, at least early in the season.
April 21, 2008
With their preparation for the NFL draft completed, the Washington Redskins are among the teams considering making trades to change their draft position. The Redskins hold the 21st pick in the April 26-27 draft, and they are expected to discuss trading down if the top players on their draft board have been selected when they are scheduled to pick, according to the Washington Post. "You never rule anything out," Executive president of football operations Vinny Cerrato said recently. "When you're trying to improve, you explore all your options to make the team better. If someone comes to you with something that makes sense, you think about it."

Our View:The Redskins are in the unusual position of having a full cupboard of picks, but they also have several positions of need including offensive and defensive lines, wide receiver, cornerback and safety.

Washington Redskins head coach Jim Zorn told the media at the owners’ meetings this week that QB Jason Campbell will have to “develop over several years” in order to grasp the complexities of the West Coast system, according to Pro Football Weekly. Zorn was quick to praise Campbell’s footwork, which is something the two of them have spent the most time working on since he was named head coach. Although the entire offense has yet to be installed, Zorn has a working playbook that will be ready to be implemented in mini-camp. Campbell already has a decent feel for the plays he'll be expected to run. For the record, Hasselbeck threw 22 touchdowns against 18 interceptions in his first 22 starts in the West Coast scheme. Those statistics came after he learned on the sidelines for two seasons. The scheme can be difficult to assimilate, making Campbell a mid-range backup quarterback in the fantasy world.

The first 2008 preseason game will take place in Canton, Ohio on Aug. 3 (NBC, 8 p.m. ET), and features the Indianapolis Colts vs. Washington Redskins in the annual Pro Football Hall of Fame Game, according to NFL.com. It will be an eventful weekend for the Redskins, as two of the greatest players in their history –- cornerback Darrell Green and wide receiver Art Monk -– will join the class of 2008 at the Hall induction ceremonies. We’re not counting, but you only have 122 shopping days until the kickoff of the preseason games.

Owner Daniel Snyder is sure that Jason Campbell is the right quarterback to lead the Washington Redskins organization, according to the Washington Times. "Jason has performed good. We need to him to perform great," Mr. Snyder said. "He's professional, intelligent, eager to learn. He's got all the attributes of leadership. He's the type of guy that you're thrilled to have. We feel good with Jason as our quarterback. There are a lot of teams that would like to have Jason Campbell." In three seasons, Campbell has started 20 games – completing 57.7% of his pass attempts for 22 touchdowns and 17 interceptions. The expectations will be raised in the nation’s capital in 2008 coming off a wildcard playoff appearance.
February 26, 2008
The Washington Redskins have an offensive staff filled with coaches who have never called plays on the professional level before, according to FoxSports.com. Zorn, who is considered a quarterback guru, hasn’t been tasked with play-calling duties during his career, but has already stated he will perform the task this year. It will be interesting to see what type of impact the departures of Joe Gibbs, Al Saunders and Gregg Williams has on the continuity of the organization in 2008.
February 22, 2008
Jason Campbell is the clear-cut starting quarterback for the Washington Redskins in 2008, according to the Washington Post. Redskins HC Jim Zorn also stated he would like to try to retain backup Todd Collins to provide some competition in camp. "There's competition. I don't think that Todd should come in here feeling like, I'm never going to play” said Zorn. “He'd better come in thinking that he's got to get himself ready. He's got to push Jason and take over if he can. And then Jason has got to think to himself, I'm the guy. This is my team. I'm not looking back.” According to earlier reports, Campbell is fully recovered from his dislocated knee cap injury and has already been cleared to play by passing his latest physical.
February 9, 2008
Ending a wild month of speculation, the Washington Redskins have reportedly settled on Jim Zorn to be their new HC replacing Joe Gibbs. Zorn will likely be introduced by the team on Sunday as their head coach just a couple of weeks after the team initially hired him on January 26th to be the Offensive Coordinator. Zorn will become the sixth coach since Dan Snyder purchased the team in 1999. AP
