Derrick Mason was limited in Friday's practice while nursing his ailing left shoulder, according to the Ravens' official website.

Our View:Mason is going to be a game-time decision and will be a risky fantasy option if given the green light to play against a strong Eagles' secondary.
November 20, 2008
Derrick Mason is likely going to be a game-time call for Sunday's battle against the Eagles as he was unable to practice Wednesday due to his ailing left shoulder, according to the Baltimore Sun. He said, "Older people say your bones ache when it starts to get cold. Maybe that's the case with me."

Our View:Mason will be a risky fantasy option if cleared to play while contending with a strong Eagles' secondary.
November 19, 2008
Derrick Mason did not practice on Wednesday, as he's dealing with a shoulder injury, according to the Ravens' official site.

Our View:Mason has been pretty hit or miss in fantasy so far this season. If he's questionable going into Sunday, you probably will want to go in a different direction.
November 16, 2008
Derrick Mason posted seven receptions for 82 yards in the Week 11 loss to the New York Giants.

Our View:In the last three games, Mason has compiled 19 receptions for 259 yards and one touchdowns.
November 16, 2008
Derrick Mason will be active today against the New York Giants, according to NFL.com

Our View:Mason, who has started 99 consecutive games, should be a serviceable No. 3 fantasy receiver, as the Giants have surrendered five touchdowns to opposing No. 1 receivers this season.
November 16, 2008
Derrick Mason (shoulder) has a streak if 99 consecutive games played and is determined to play on Sunday, FOXSports.com reports.

Our View:Even if Mason does play, he is an iffy play for fantasy owners with his shoulder injury and a tough match-up vs. the Giants.
November 14, 2008
Derrick Mason returned to practice Friday, according to the Baltimore Sun. He missed the previous two days of practice while nursing his dislocated left shoulder.

Our View:He participated in a few individual drills, but did not wear his helmet and he wore a red, non-contact jersey. His status for Sunday's game against the Giants is yet to be declared.
November 12, 2008
Ravens receiver Derrick Mason said Wednesday that he expects to play in Sunday's game against the New York Giants, according to the Baltimore Sun. "I'm going to make the trip to New York and I expect to be on the field," said Mason. "My body typically responds well whenever I've had injuries. Just because I'm a little bit older doesn't mean it's not going to respond well again."

Our View:The Ravens have said that they do not expect Mason to practice at all this week. The receiver has started 99 straight games and don't expect him to miss this one.
November 10, 2008
Derrick Mason dealt with a dislocated shoulder from the sidelines in the first half of Sunday's win over Houston, but he fought through the pain to play in the second half, according to the Baltimore Sun. He caught a nine-yard pass to open the third quarter, and made another 11-yard reception four plays later. Mason said, "Not to say it didn't hurt, but when adrenaline is going, you kind of block some things out."

Our View:He finished the contest with three grabs for 41 yards. He should be good to go for Week 11 against the Giants.
November 9, 2008
Wide receiver Derrick Mason returned during the second half of the Week 10 game against the Texans. He injured his left shoulder during the first half.

Our View:Mason appears to have extra padding or something to protect his shoulder, but it's excellent news that he is back in the game.
November 9, 2008
Wide receiver Derrick Mason officially suffered a left shoulder strain during the first quarter of the Week 10 game against the Texans. His return is questionable.

Our View:The word "strain" is good news, even if Mason isn't able to come back in this game.
November 9, 2008
Wide receiver Derrick Mason suffered an apparent left shoulder injury during the first quarter of the Week 10 game against the Titans.

Our View:Mason was walking around on the sidelines and may have just suffered a stinger. We'll update his status when more is known, but this receiving corps turns from poor to downright awful when Mason is out.
November 2, 2008
Wide receiver Derrick Mason compiled nine receptions for 136 yards and one touchdown in the Week 9 victory over Cleveland.

Our View:These digits represent a big bounce back after last week's disappointing one catch for three yards effort. Mason has scored in two of the past three games, while totaling 70 or more receiving yards in three of the past four contests.
October 26, 2008
Wide receiver Derrick Mason (illness) is active for the Week 8 game against the Raiders. Fellow wideout Mark Clayton (thigh) is also active.

Our View:Fantasy owners should feel free to use Mason, who continues to see a lot of looks. Clayton has done nothing to suggest he is useful in fantasy leagues.
October 24, 2008
Derrick Mason is dealing with an unspecified illness and is questionable for Sunday's game against Oakland, according to NFL.com. He didn’t participate in practice on Thursday and was limited on Friday.

Our View:Mason is the Ravens' leading receiver with 33 grabs, but only scored one touchdown. With that said, he holds more value in PPR leagues right now, and would be gravely missed by the Ravens if unable to go this weekend.
October 23, 2008
Baltimore wideout Derrick Mason was not at the team's practice on Thursday due to an illness, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Our View:Mason's status for this week is unknown, but he is the best receiving threat for Baltimore. His fantasy value is limited somewhat due to the fact he has just one touchdown on the year, but he can be a useful No. 3.
October 19, 2008
Wide receiver caught six passes for 87 yards and a touchdown in the Week 7 win over Miami.

Our View:The touchdown was the first for for Mason since Week 16 of last year. The 12-year veteran represents a servicable No. 3 fantasy receiver, as he has compiled five or more receptions in each of the past four games.
October 6, 2008
As expected, HC John Harbaugh reiterated on Monday that the injury to the thumb of Derrick Mason was indeed minor, according to the Baltimore Sun. "Derrick Mason should be fine," Harbaugh said. "He's going through some bumps and bruises. He's going to spend a little time in treatment this week."

Our View:Mason has 21 receptions in his four games this season and continues to be a solid WR3 option in PPR leagues despite the struggles of Joe Flacco.
October 5, 2008
Derrick Mason injured his left thumb in Week 5 but the Baltimore Sun is reporting that the injury is not serious.

Our View:Mason has had a good start to the 2008 season with 261 receiving yards in four games but has yet to get into the end zone. The Ravens rookie quarterback, Joe Flacco, is definitely comfortable with throwing to Mason.
September 29, 2008
Derrick Mason caught eight passes for 137 yards in Baltimore's 23-20 loss to the Steelers on Monday night.

Our View:Once again, Mason is piling up the receptions despite a rookie quarterback. He had four in each of his first two games and now has 16 for the season. The veteran is clearly Joe Flacco's favorite target. He is a good bet in PPR leagues for the rest of the season.
August 23, 2008
Derrick Mason caught six passes for 85 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's preseason loss to the St. Louis Rams.

Our View:Mason appears to be over the minor knee injury that he suffered in practice. He'll serve as the Ravens' No. 1 receiver again this season.
August 15, 2008
Derrick Mason landed on his right knee while running a route against cornerback Corey Ivy and stayed down on the turf for a few minutes during practice, according to the Carroll County Times.

Our View:He limped off the field and sat out the remainder of practice with his knee iced and wrapped, but said he will be fine and was able to put weight on his leg.
