Bernard Berrian's hot streak came to a crashing halt Sunday as he was held without a catch in a win over Green Bay, according to the Star Tribune. He said, "I'm only disappointed if we lose."

Our View:His streak of scoring a touchdown in four straight games has ended. He also topped 100 receiving yards three times over that span. He was a grave disappointment for fantasy owners Sunday, but should still be penciled into fantasy lineups in Week 11 against the Buccaneers.
November 2, 2008
Bernard Berrian caught two passes for 104 yards and a score in Sunday's 28-21 win over Houston. His touchdown covered 49 yards, launched by Gus Frerotte.

Bernard Berrian (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game, according to the Star Tribune.

Our View:Berrian is often a member of the injury report but he has not missed a game yet this season. He has 22 catches for 436 yards and two touchdowns.
October 15, 2008
Bernard Berrian was limited at practice on Wednesday because of his injured knee, according to The Star Tribune.

Our View:Berrian has caught 16 passes for 319 yards the past three weeks as he and Gus Frerotte have formed a nice bond. This was likely a situation of the team just resting Berrian and he should play this weekend.
October 12, 2008
Wide receiver Bernard Berrian posted five receptions for 131 yards and an 86 yard touchdown in the Week 6 victory over Detroit.

Our View:In the past two games, Berrian has compiled 11 receptions for 241 yards and two scores. It's becoming very apparent that Berrian and Frerotte are on the same sheet of music in the passing offense.
October 10, 2008
Vikings wideout Bernard Berrian was practicing on Friday, one day after being held out due to knee and toe maladies, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Our View:If Berrian does play, he can certainly help out fantasy owners, as the Vikes take on the Detroit Lions. However, his status is not known yet.
October 9, 2008
Bernard Berrian was held out of Thursday's practice due to his knee injury, according to the Star Tribune. Berrian has also been bothered by a sore big toe on his right foot this season.

Our View:He has not been ruled out for Week 6, and has a chance to play if he can practice Friday. He burned the Saints for 110 receiving yards and a score in Monday's exciting win, and has another favorable match-up this weekend against the Lions' 29th ranked pass defense.
October 8, 2008
Vikings wide receiver Bernard Berrian was limited in practice on Wednesday due to an injured knee, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.

Our View:It was a rough start to the season for Berrian but in the recent weeks he has become the favorite target for Gus Frerotte. In his past three games Berrian has gone over 75 yards and finally reached the end zone against the Saints.
October 6, 2008
Bernard Berrian caught six passes for 110 yards and a late score as the Vikings go to option in the passing game with Sidney Rice on the sidelines because of his knee injury on Monday against the Saints.

Our View:Berrian certainly had a poor start to the year but since the club went to Gus Frerotte behind center three games ago Berrian has gone over 75-yards each game though tonight marks the first time that he found the end zone.
October 5, 2008
Bernard Berrian made the trip with the Vikings to New Orleans and all indications are that he will play on Monday night, according to Vikings Now.

Our View:If Berrian plays on Monday night he will have a favorable match-up against the much maligned secondary.
October 5, 2008
Wide receiver Bernard Berrian (questionable, knee) practiced during the brief portion that was open to the media Saturday and is optimistic that he will play against New Orleans on Monday night, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.

Our View:Berrian was limited in practice Friday, and the Saturday workout was light without pads. If you have a better option on your roster you will probably want to insert that player, as we won't know Berrian's true status until Monday night.
October 3, 2008
Bernard Berrian is questionable for Sunday according to the Star-Tribune due to a knee injury.

Our View:After Berrian's trash talking of Saints cornerback Mike McKenzie earlier in the week, we would be surprised if his knee keeps him out of Monday Night's matchup.
October 2, 2008
Vikings wideout Bernard Berrian is none too impressed with Saints corner Mike McKenzie, according to the St. Paul Pioneer-Press. "He’s an old veteran. He’s going to be a smart player, but I don’t think the skill is there as much as it used to be," Berrian remarked.

Our View:Strange comment considering it's not like Berrian has set the world on fire after signing a big-money deal with Minnesota, catching just 11 passes for 195 yards and no touchdowns. If he continues at the same rate, Minnesota would get 44 catches for 780 yards for their $16 million in guaranteed money.
September 19, 2008
Bernard Berrian remains limited in practice due to his toe ailment, according to the Pioneer Press.

Our View:Despite not fully practicing, he is listed as probable on the injury report. It looks like he will start Sunday against the Panthers, and is worth consideration as a No. 3 receiver in Gus Frerotte's first start of the season.
September 18, 2008
Bernard Berrian was limited in Wednesday's practice due to his toe ailment, according to the Star Tribune.

Our View:Berrian is not the only Vikings' receiver nursing injuries, as Sidney Rice (sprained PCL) and Aundrae Allison (foot) are also banged up. Gus Frerotte will make his first start of the season against Carolina, but the Vikings' aerial attack doesn't look to do much damage.
September 4, 2008
Vikings wide receiver Bernard Berrian says he will play in the team's Monday night opener against the Packers despite persistent toe pain, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. "I wish we had a little bit more time to get it perfect, but we don't, so I'll be playing," he said.

Our View:Berrian would not classify the injury as turf toe, but said it was something he has been dealing with for a while. He projects to be a solid No. 2 or 3 receiver on fantasy squads this season, health permitting.
August 26, 2008
Bernard Berrian participated in a full practice Monday after being limited by a sore toe, according to the Star Tribune. He said, "I feel a little rusty today. I haven't been out there for a while. But the toe held up fine."

Our View:Berrian is projected to be the Vikings' No. 1 receiver this season, but there is a chance his toe ailment could linger, and his numbers will already likely be limited by the Vikings' run-heavy offense.
August 23, 2008
Bernard Berrian sat out Saturday's game with a sore toe, according to the AP.

Our View:Sidney Rice also sat out the game, so the Vikes were thin at receiver.
August 21, 2008
Bernard Berrian is dealing with turf toe, but is expected to play in the Vikings' next preseason game against Pittsburgh on Saturday, according to the Pioneer Press.

Our View:Berrian shouldn't see much action, to prevent further aggravating the injury.
August 19, 2008
Wide receiver Bernard Berrian practiced at least partially on Tuesday despite dealing with turf toe, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Our View:Previous comments by Berrian suggest he dealt with this injury last season, and it sounds like he will continue to play through the pain. Berrian doesn't have a ton of fantasy value, but this news might drop him a few spots.
August 18, 2008
Bernard Berrian told KFAN's Dan Barreiro Monday that the toe injury that kept him out of last week's preseason game is similar to turf toe and is something he dealt with last season while with the Bears, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. The receiver said he isn't sure if he'll play this Saturday in the Vikings' third preseason game and that he and the team are taking things "day-to-day." Berrian said he is receiving "a lot of treatment" for the injury and that he spent much of last season undergoing similar treatments.

Our View:You have to be at least mildly concerned that this will be a chronic problem. We'll continue to provide updates on Berrian's situation.
August 17, 2008
Bernard Berrian sat out Saturday's preseason game due to a toe injury, according to the Star Tribune.

Our View:The team did not disclose the severity of his ailment.
March 11, 2008
The Minnesota Vikings crafted a salary cap-friendly contract with wide receiver Bernard Berrian that allows more than half of his guaranteed money to count against their 2008 salary cap, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. Berrian's $16 million in guarantees includes a $5 million signing bonus and two roster bonuses: $8 million this year and $3 million in 2009. Therefore, his 2008 cap number is at least $9.44 million - the sum of the first roster bonus, his $605,000 base salary and the prorated portion of the signing bonus. Berrian, who spent his first four NFL seasons with Chicago before joining the Vikings as a free agent, will receive $23 million over the first three years of the contract.
March 1, 2008
The Vikings have officially come to terms on a six-year deal with Bernard Berrian, this according to Fox Sports. Berrian was considered by many to have been the second best talent on the market behind Randy Moss, and while that might be true the discrepancy between the two is huge. Even as the No. 1 receiver for the Vikings, Berrian is a fringe second receiver in traditional formats.
March 1, 2008
Bernard Berrian was seen wearing a Vikings cap while at their headquarters on Saturday, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. That may be a sign that he wants to sign with the Vikings, but a more telling sign was what personnel head Rick Spielman said when asked if Berrian was there to negotiate a contract: "Well, he’s not here to visit Minnesota." If Berrian can't work out a deal with the Vikes, then the Raiders, Titans and Niners are expected to take a stab. Meanwhile, things just get darker by the hour in Chi-town.
February 29, 2008
Bernard Berrian who is visiting Minnesota today, is expected to visit the Raiders next, according to the Chicago Tribune. Tennessee and San Fransisco reportedly will also be players for the free agent wide receiver. Berrian would seem to be a great fit for Oakland, giving them a deep threat that young JaMarcus Russell could use.
February 29, 2008
The Minnesota Vikings hope to visit today with free agent wide receiver Bernard Berrian, according to FOX Sports. The Berrian to Minnesota rumors have been in the air for a couple of days. It wouldn’t be a major surprise to see the coveted wide receiver land a contract with the Vikings, who could certainly use the upgrade in the receiver corps. However, there are reports circulating that Tennessee and San Francisco could enter the fray, creating a bidding war for Berrian who is the most popular receiver on the planet right now.
February 28, 2008
Bernard Berrian will be pounced on once the midnight deadline passes and it becomes Friday, with the most likely suitors being the Vikings and the Titans, this according to Scout.com. The Niners remain a "wildcard" according to the report. Berrian is the top guy out there, other than Randy Moss, which will likely drive his contract way up so that someone is going to have to show him the money to acquire his services.
February 28, 2008
The Chicago Bears have offered wide receiver Bernard Berrian a five-year deal worth $25 million, including $8 million in bonus money, but it wasn’t enough to get a deal done, according to FanNation. Berrian, a four-year veteran, is looking for a deal that will pay him more than $12 million in guaranteed money. Not bad work if you can find it, especially considering he has never posted a single 1000-yard campaign. Of course, he has been shackled by the Bears’ run first quarterback deficient scheme. And one more time for those of you who haven’t been paying attention, the Browns, Jets, Raiders, 49ers and Vikings are among the teams reported to be interested in his services.
February 28, 2008
The league’s rumor mill is wicked active at this time of the year. One of the latest rumors making the rounds is the Minnesota Vikings’ likely entry into the Bernard Berrian sweepstakes, according to FanNation. Talk about a player being at the right place at the right time, Berrian is probably going to be overpaid by some NFL organization, and the Vikings fit the profile of a team who could utilize his services in 2008.
February 25, 2008
Bernard Berrian was not placed under the transition tag by the Bears, and it appears that he is leaning away from returning to the Bears in '08, this according to a report on Fox Sports. John Czarnecki goes on to report that Berrian seems very interested with the possibility of playing for the 49ers. The Niners certainly need more than one WR now that pass happy OC Mike Martz is in town, and Berrian would certainly be a big fantasy target next year come draft day if he were to move to San Fran.
February 24, 2008
The Browns apparently would be interested in Bernard Berrian if he becomes a free agent next week, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. "We'll continue to discuss his contract with the Bears, we'll still stay in the loop, but he will more than likely be a free agent," his agent Drew Rosenhaus said. "We'll continue to work with Chicago through that process." As a legit deep threat, Berrian would make for a nice complement to Braylon Edwards and is exactly what the Browns should be looking to improve their wide receiving corps.
February 21, 2008
Bernard Berrian will not receive the franchise tag from the Chicago Bears per GM Jerry Angelo, according to ChicagoSports.com. The Bears organization has reportedly made an “aggressive” contract offer to Berrian, so the ball is in his court. HC Lovie Smith has said he's optimistic that the team will bring back both Berrian and LB Lance Briggs for next season.
February 19, 2008
Bernard Berrian, who is set to become an unrestricted free agent, has received an undisclosed contract offer from the Chicago Bears, according to the Sun-Times. This move certainly makes sense as Berrian, who is the team's best wide receiver, has increased his reception and yardage totals the past two seasons. Berrian compiled 71 receptions, 951 yards and five scores in 2007, and more importantly is familiar with the offensive scheme, which is vital for the continuity of the unit.
February 9, 2008
Bernard Berrian's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said Friday that he has "not heard anything either way" about whether the Bears will use their franchise tag on his client, according to the Chicago Tribune. NFL Network's Adam Schefter reported that the club is unlikley to use the tag on Berrian. The wide receiver has said he wants to stay with the Bears, but he figures to be one of the top receivers on the free-agent market next month, so it'll be interesting to see how this plays out.
January 4, 2008
Bears general manager Jerry Angelo told the Chicago Sun-Times on Thursday that he would consider placing the franchise tag on unrestricted free agent Bernard Berrian . Such a move would guarantee Berrian nearly $8 million next season.

Our View:That seems like a lot of money for Berrian, who actually turned down a long-term contract offer that would have paid him that much in guaranteed money over the duration of the deal.
