Colts linebacker Gary Brackett was named the AFC defensive player of the week, according to Colts.com.

Our View:In the Colts come from behind win over the Texans, Brackett returned a fumble 68 yards for a touchdown.

Gary Brackett returned to practice Thursday, which was four days earlier than expected, according to ESPN. He has been dealing with hip and groin ailments. Coach Tony Dungy said, "Yes, Gary's back and it's good to have him back."

Our View:The team did not indicate if Brackett, who racked up 116 tackles in 2007, will play in Saturday's preseason game against the Panthers.

Colts middle linebacker Gary Brackett has a hip injury that will cause him to miss the team's first exhibition game on Sunday against the Redskins, according to the Indianapolis Star.

Our View:Brackett underwent an MRI, but Colts coach Tony Dungy said it was not serious and he should be back shortly. Brackett racked up 116 tackles, intercepted four passes and scored one touchdown on a fumble recovery. He could possibly be a factor in fantasy in IDP leagues should he stay healthy.
