Quinn Gray has been cut by the Colts, according to the Indianapolis Star. Fellow quarterback Jared Lorenzen failed to make the team as well.

Our View:The moves indicate that the team is confident with the health of Peyton Manning, and trust Jim Sorgi as the primary backup.

In an ugly offensive game for the Colts, quarterback Quinn Gray was the master of ugly, completing 12 of his 16 passes in the game. Unfortunately, four of them were to the Buffalo Bills, the Colts opponent on the evening. As a result, Buffalo took down Indy, 20-7.

Our View:Gray may not make the roster, barring injuries to Peyton Manning and Jim Sorgi lingering longer than anticipated.

In a move that indicates the concerns surrounding Peyton Manning may run deeper than originally thought, the Colts have signed veteran passers Quinn Gray and Jared Lorenzen, according to ProFootballTalk.com.

Our View:The Colts continue to assert that Manning, recovering from knee surgery, will be all good to go well before the season starts, but this move adds experienced insurance policies should complications arise. Gray spent his first four seasons with the Jaguars, appearing in 11 games and starting four, all in 2007. He signed with the Texans as a free agent, but was released after failing to sufficiently pick up the offense during offseason workouts. Talk notes the signing of Lorenzen is not confirmed, though their source is reliable. The other quarterbacks on the roster are Jim Sorgi, Josh Betts, and rookie Adam Tafralis.

The Texans have released quarterback Quinn Gray, according to the Houston Chronicle. Gray looked good at times while operating the Jaguars' offense, but looked lost in Houston, and didn't adjust well to their offense.

Our View:He was competing for clipboard duty behind starter Matt Schaub and top backup Sage Rosenfels. Shane Boyd and rookie Alex Brink will now battle for the number three spot.

Quinn Gray has signed a one-year contract with the Houston Texans, according to the Houston Chronicle. Gray, who played his first five seasons with Jacksonville, signed a one-year deal worth $605,000 including a $40,000 signing bonus. Signing Gray gives Houston three experienced quarterbacks. Matt Schaub is firmly entrenched as the starter, while Sage Rosenfels has proven to be a solid backup. If a team offers a second round pick for Rosenfels, having Gray would make it easier for the Texans to make the trade. Minnesota recently offered a third-round pick for Rosenfels but the Texans turned it down.
