Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan didn't hold back in his praise of Raiders cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha. "He is the most underrated football player in the history of the game," Shanahan tells NFL.com. "I can’t believe this guy hasn’t been to the Pro Bowl or people don’t talk about him all the time. He is off the charts and as good as it gets." The Raiders face the Broncos this Sunday.

Our View:We agree that Asomugha doesn't get the attention he deserves, but our knowledge of the NFL's history isn't complete enough to verify the first part of Shanny's statement. Considering Shanahan has watched Champ Bailey operate over the past five years, this is high praise.

Nnamdi Asomugha exited the game against Miami in the first half with a hand injury.

Our View:No additional information is currently available.

The Raiders are expected to place the franchise tag on elite cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha again in the off-season, according to NFL.com.

Our View:The franchise tag for Asomugha will cost the Raiders $11.7 million, which is worth it as he is considered by many to be the best cornerback in the NFL.

Ravens' coach John Harbaugh praised Raiders' cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha, according to the SF Chronicle. Harbaugh said, "I'm pretty sure there's not a better corner in the NFL than he."

Our View:The Ravens and Raiders will meet this weekend, and the elite Asomugha should be headed for another solid outing while working against rookie quarterback Joe Flacco.

Nnamdi Asomugha fully practiced without restrictions Friday, according to the Oakland Tribune. He is recovering from an elbow injury.

Our View:Asomugha should be able to start Sunday's game against the pass-happy Saints, which is good news for the Raiders' secondary as Asomugha is their top defensive back. As a fantasy performer, he only has 10 tackles and is yet to record an interception.
