Kevin Curtis is expected to start Sunday's game against Atlanta following his recovery from sports hernia surgery, according to the Philadelphia Daily News. He said, "I plan on playing a lot. It depends on how I'm feeling, how I'm holding up. I haven't played a game for a while, a full game like that since last year."

Our View:Curtis led the Eagles in receiving in 2007 and is worth starting Sunday while facing the Falcons' 26th ranked pass defense.
October 23, 2008
Philadelphia coach Andy Reid confirmed that Kevin Curtis will start at wideout next to DeSean Jackson for the Eagles Week 8, according to the Philadelphia Daily News.

Our View:Curtis' snaps may still be limited as he continues to work his way into shape from hernia surgery. Nonetheless, the team's opponent, Atlanta, struggles in pass defense, making Curtis a decent fantasy option.
October 22, 2008
Kevin Curtis is listed as a starting receiver with rookie DeSean Jackson on today's depth chart on the Eagles' official website.

Our View:It may not be accurate, but does make sense as Curtis was the leading receiver in 2007 and Jackson has been dazzling as a rookie. If so, Reggie Brown would be the odd-man-out among starters.
October 20, 2008
Kevin Curtis, who has been recovering from sports hernia surgery, participated in Monday's practice, according to the Eagles' official website.

Our View:It appears that he has a good shot to make his 2008 debut this weekend in a favorable match-up against the Falcons' 26th ranked pass defense that has already surrendered 10 scores through the air. Curtis was notably the Eagles' top receiver in 2007 while racking up 77 receptions for 1,110 yards and six scores.
October 10, 2008
Eagles wideout Kevin Curtis will travel with the team to San Francisco, and it is possible he will make his season debut, according to PhiladelphiaEagles.com.

Our View:Curtis had surgery for a sports hernia, and has missed the entire year. Even if he is able to go, it is unknown exactly how much he would be able to participate, making him a risky fantasy option.
October 9, 2008
Kevin Curtis, who is recovering from sports hernia surgery, fully practiced Thursday, according to the Eagles' official website.

Our View:He saw an increased workload in practice today, as expected. It remains uncertain when he will make his 2008 debut in a game, but should be scooped up if still dangling on the waiver wire, as he led the club with 1,110 receiving yards in 2007.
October 8, 2008
Kevin Curtis, who is recovering from sports hernia surgery, is expected to see an increased workload in practice this week, according to the Eagles' official website.

Our View:This is encouraging news, as he has practiced on a limited basis over the last two weeks. It remains uncertain when he will make his 2008 debut in a game, but should be scooped up if still dangling on the waiver wire, as he led the club with 1,110 receiving yards last season.
October 3, 2008
Eagles receiver Kevin Curtis is still battling back from a sports hernia, and though the team was hopeful he would suit up Week 5, that doesn't seem like it is going to happen, according to PhillyBurbs.com.

Our View:Curtis has not completely ruled out suiting up, but it would be a surprise if he did. When he comes back, he should be able to make an impact in fantasy leagues, but that will have to wait for the moment.
September 27, 2008
There is a possibility that Eagles receiver Kevin Curtis will play Week 5 when the team takes on the Redskins, according to Pro Football Weekly.

Our View:Curtis has been out with a sports hernia. He certainly deserves the attention of fantasy owners upon his return, especially with the way the Eagles are moving the ball this season.
September 26, 2008
Kevin Curtis, out recovering from a hernia operation, practiced all week with the scout team but will still be listed as doubtful to play in Week 4, according to Scout.com.

Our View:Hank Baskett will likely continue to start in Curtis' place, though Curtis appears to be closing in on his first appearance of the 2008 season.
September 24, 2008
Coach Andy Reid indicated that Kevin Curtis, who is recovering from sports hernia surgery, may make his 2008 debut this weekend at Chicago, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. Reid said, "We'll see. I'm going to do a little bit like I did with Reggie Brown, when we brought Reggie back, just to see where he's at exactly. Things looked good in the rehab process that he went through and he looked like he had his speed and his quickness and all that, but you really don't know until you see him out there practicing. We'll see how he does. If he can play, he'll play and if not, then he won't."

Our View:Curtis was the Eagles' top receiver in 2007 and should be scooped up off the waiver wire, but should not be considered for lineups this weekend if he plays in a tough match-up against the Bears, who will be out for blood following two straight close losses.
September 22, 2008
Kevin Curtis, who is recovering from sports hernia surgery, will begin practicing with the Eagles' scout team this week, according to the official team website.

Our View:This is encouraging news regarding his progress, but he still isn't ecpected to return to the Eagles' lineup before Week 6.
September 21, 2008
Eagles inactives: QB A.J. Feeley (3rd), LB Joe Mays, DE Bryan Smith, G William Andrews, G Mike McGlynn, WR Kevin Curtis, TE Matt Schobel, DE Victor Abiamiri.

Our View:None of the players on this week's list are fantasy relevant. Curtis is still a few weeks from returning, and wide receiver Reggie Brown is expected to play this week after missing the first two games with a hamstring injury.
September 9, 2008
Eagles wide receiver Kevin Curtis might be able to return to the Eagles lineup before the Eagles bye week which is Week 7. Coach Andy Reid said he was optimistic about Curtis' early return, according to the Delaware News Journal.

Our View:Any news about Curtis playing is good news to fantasy owners, who were disappointed when Curtis went down. He was a huge success last year scoring six touchdowns and over 1,100 receiving yards.
September 1, 2008
Eagles wide receiver Kevin Curtis is ahead of schedule in his rehab from a sports hernia, and could return quicker than the team thought, according to PhillyBurbs.com.

Our View:Good news for fantasy owners, as Curtis makes a solid No. 3 receiver, having hauled in 77 passes for 1,110 yards and six touchdowns a year ago.
August 25, 2008
Kevin Curtis is optimistic after undergoing surgery for a sports hernia, according to the Philadelphia Daily News. He didn't set a timetable, but is confident he won't miss much of the regular season. He said, "I can't predict the future, but I'm going to do everything I can to get back on the field. From what I understand of the procedure, there's no reason at some point, I can't feel just as good as I did before the injury. I plan on being back out there as soon as possible. I'm going to be back out there when I know I can't do more damage to it."

Our View:Dr. William Meyers (who performed the surgery) noted that there was less damage in Curtis' injury than that of LJ Smith and Donovan McNabb, both of which had the same surgery. This is encouraging news, but it remains in question how much time he will ultimately miss.
August 21, 2008
Kevin Curtis will likely need 6-8 weeks of recovery time for his sports hernia surgery, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Our View:Curtis will not be easy to replace as he led the Eagles in receptions (77) and receiving yards (1,110) last season. At least Reggie Brown (hamstring) is expected back for Week 1. The value of rookie DeSean Jackson looks to go up with Curtis expected to miss most of the first half of the season.
August 20, 2008
Kevin Curtis will undergo sports hernia surgery, according to the Philadelphia Daily News. Curtis was injured against the Panthers in last Thursday's preseason game. He tried to practice this week but was unable to run due to the pain, leading to the decision to have the surgery.

Our View:The full extent of the injury will not be certain until the surgery is performed so no timetable was given for a possible return, but expect it to be a while, given the past track reoord of the injury. Coach Andy Reid is not interested in adding another receiver at this time.
