The doctor that treated Plaxico Burress on the night he shot himself in the leg, Josyann Abisaab, was suspended for not contacting the police about it, according to the New York Post.

Our View:It is the law in New York for doctors to contact police when they treat a victim of a gunshot wound. They are still deciding whether or not to bring charges against anyone who did not contact the authorities that should have.
December 2, 2008
Plaxico Burress has been suspended for four games and placed on the non-football injury list, according to ESPN.

Our View:Plax's season is over, which is not a surprise. He may or may not be going to jail, but either way he's not going to be helping fantasy teams anymore this season.
December 2, 2008
Plaxico Burress posted $100,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court on March 31, according to the Associated Press.

December 1, 2008
Updating an earlier report, Plaxico Burress was escorted out of New York's 17th precinct police station in handcuffs, according to the Star-Ledger.

December 1, 2008
Plaxico Burress reported to a police station Monday morning and is expected to be charged after shooting himself in the leg, according to ESPN.

Our View:According to his attorney, Burress planned to plead not guilty to criminal possession of a weapon. Coach Tom Coughlin is yet to comment on Burress' future with the Giants.
November 30, 2008
ESPN.com reports the Giants are considering placing Plaxico Burress on the non-football injury reserve list, which would end his season and allow the Giants to recover money already paid to him.

Our View:The situation continues to develop, as Burress is expected to surrender to authorites on Monday after being charged with criminal possession of a weapon. Domenik Hixon will continue to start for as long as Burress is out.
November 30, 2008
Wide receiver Plaxico Burress will surrender to authorities as soon as Monday, Adam Schefter of the NFL Network reports. Burress is also expected to issue a statement soon.

Our View:This news is more interesting outside the fantasy world than inside it, as Plax is already out this week and seems likely to miss more time. Domenik Hixon is expected to step up and fill the void. We're sure to hear much, much more Burress news in the coming days and weeks.
November 30, 2008
Plaxico Burress is likely going to be charged with criminal possession of a firearm after shooting himself in the leg, according to the NY Daily News. The Giants released this statement on the matter, "We are aware of the fact that Plaxico was involved in an apparent accidental shooting last night. We have been in contact with Plaxico since shortly after the incident. Plaxico suffered a wound to his right thigh. Obviously, our primary concern is for Plaxico’s health and well-being, and given the circumstances, we are relieved to say he was released from a New York City hospital at approximately 2 p.m. today. We have been in touch with NFL Security on this matter. At this point, we are attempting to gather all the facts surrounding this incident. This incident could become a matter for law enforcement officials, and because of that, we have no comment on any of the details."

Our View:The charge would carry a jail term of up to five years if convicted. As for now, fantasy owners should target Domenik Hixon, who looked good in limited action this season.
November 29, 2008
Plaxico Burress could face jail time if he wasn't licensed to carry a concealed firearm, according to Profootballtalk.com.

Our View:This shouldn't affect Burress for this season as the trial process certainly wouldn't begin for months. However, since he shot himself in the leg, that likely will affect him this year.
November 29, 2008
Giants wideout Plaxico Burress accidentally shot himself in the leg on Friday and spent the night in the hospital, though the injuries are not life-threatening, according to Jay Glazer of FoxSports.com.

Our View:There are no concrete details right now on exactly how the incident occurred or if he will miss additional time, though ESPN's John Clayton reports it happened at a nightclub. He was already ruled out this week due to a hamstring injury.

Plaxico Burress has officially been ruled out of the Giants Week 13 game with the Redskins because of his injured hamstring, according to The Star-Ledger.

November 28, 2008
The Newark Star-Ledger reports that Plaxico Burress (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 13's game against the Redskins.

Our View:Burress played just one play last week, and the G-Men did just as well without him. Domenik Hixon is expected to start in his place.
November 28, 2008
The Newark Star-Ledger reports that Plaxico Burress was not practicing Friday.

Our View:Burress has a sore hamstring and has not practiced this week. Expect the Giants to take a cautious approach with him, making him a very risky play in fantasy leagues this week.
November 27, 2008
Plaxico Burress missed Thursday's practice while nursing his ailing hamstring, according to the Star-Ledger.

Our View:Burress remains day-to-day. Domenik Hixon would be the top candidate to replace Burress Sunday at Washington if unable to go.
November 26, 2008
Plaxico Burress will sit out Wednesday's practice while nursing his strained hamstring, according to the Star-Ledger. Coach Tom Coughlin said, "They'll do everything they can medically to help him. He's very resilient, a very tough guy who works his way through those kinds of things. We're just going to have to wait and see. He will rehab as he has all along. He's constantly working on that. Hopefully, that will be something that's overcome in a short amount of time. But let's face it, it is a hamstring."

Our View:Burress is considered day-to-day. Fantasy owners should have adequate insurance at receiver in case he is unable to go Sunday at Washington. Domenik Hixon would be the top candidate to replace him for New York.
November 24, 2008
Plaxico Burress, who re-aggravated his hamstring injury Sunday, could not speculate if he will be available for Week 13 at Washington, according to the NY Post.

November 23, 2008

Our View:The news on Burress has gone back and forth all morning, but we will know his true status in a few minutes when the inactive lists are revealed.
November 23, 2008
Plaxico Burress is feeling better and will test his injured hamstring in pre-game warmups, according to Bob Papa of the NFL Network.

Our View:It sounds like Burress doing better, but he's still a game-time decision. The Giants/Cardinals game is a late start, so he remains an "iffy" play for owners who have to post their starting lineups before the early game kickoffs.
November 23, 2008
Plaxico Burress is questionable for the game against Arizona, and he sounded Friday like a man who wasn't sure it was worth the risk to play, according to the New York Daily News. "It's one of those things that being with the weather and how things are going with us I don't want it to linger," Burress said. "I don't want to go out there and put it in a bad position where I hurt it worse. It's not serious. Then again, I know how these hamstring things go."

Our View:Burress missed practice Thursday and Friday, making him a risky play this week against Arizona. We will continue to monitor the newswire and report updates as they become available.
November 21, 2008
Updating an earlier report, Plaxico Burress will be a game-time call for Sunday's battle at Arizona, according to ESPN. He said, "Knowing me, as of right now, I will play, but like I said you have to be smart about it because it is a hamstring. The weather is going to be cold out here for the rest of the season and hamstrings really don't normally do well in the cold weather. So like I said, I am just going to make the decision based on how I feel when we get out there and warm up on Sunday."

Our View:Burress can play through pain, but coach Tom Coughlin may opt to hold him out as the Giants hold a three-game lead in the NFC East with a 9-1 record.
November 21, 2008
Plaxico Burress is “questionable” for Sunday’s game and is taking a “cautious” approach to his injured right hamstring, according to the Daily News. "A hamstring is one of those things where if it’s not feeling well and you can’t run, you can’t run,” Burress said. “It’s not something you can cover up or anything like that."

Our View:Burress has missed the last two days of practice and he seems like a risky play at this point. Coach Tom Coughlin alluded to his availability having to do with more than his health. He wants Burress to be prepared to put his heart into the game on Sunday.
November 21, 2008
Plaxico Burress was on the sidelines riding an exercise bike during Giants' practice on Friday, according to the Daily News.

Our View:That makes two straight days of missed practices for Burress, who is nursing a strained hamstring. He is expected (required, actually) to address the media later today, so hopefully we’ll have some more information for you then.
November 20, 2008
Plaxico Burress was not in action at the start of Thursday's practice, according to the Star-Ledger.

Our View:He was on the sideline getting stretched out. He will keep you posted on his status for Week 12 at Arizona.
November 9, 2008
Plaxico Burress caught one ball for 16 yards and a score in the Giants' 36-31 win over the Eagles.

Our View:Ever since Burress' suspension he just hasn't been the same. He has only caught 14 passes in his last five games.
October 26, 2008
Burress didn't start Sunday's game as discipline for missing a scheduled treatment for his injured neck, and he wasn't very good when he found the field. He caught just three passes for 15 yards in Sunday's game.

Our View:Burress is becoming a major pain in the neck for fantasy owenrs with his mediocre play. He did have a touchdown in his previous two games, but he doesn't have more than four receptions in a game since Week 2.
October 26, 2008
Wide receiver Plaxico Burress is not expected to start today and probably won’t play the opening series after missing a scheduled treatment for his neck injury yesterday, according to the New York Daily News.

Our View:Here is the official statement from the New York Giants: “Burress will not start today’s game because he missed a mandatory treatment session yesterday morning before we traveled to Pittsburgh.” From the sound of the Daily News report, Burress will sit for the opening series and play the rest of the game.
October 26, 2008
Wide receiver Plaxico Burress will be active, but won't start in Week 8 against Pittsburgh, according to Jay Glazer of the Fox Network.

Our View:Burress reportedly broke another team rule this week and will punished by not starting. No definitive word on how much he will play, but it's difficult to imagine that the Giants will keep him sidelined for the entire game.
October 24, 2008
Plaxico Burress was fined $45,000 dollars by the NFL on Friday for two separate incidents, according to the Associated Press. Burress was fined $20,000 for arguing with an official and $25,000 for throwing the football into the seats and the accompanying unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.

Our View:As if this guy doesn't have enough going on in his life. Burress might be a big time fantasy performer when on the field, but his constant battles with the Giants and the NFL are getting really old really quickly.
October 24, 2008
Plaxico Burress was back on the practice field on Friday, according to the New York Daily News. It won't be known until later if he took part in drills, but it is a good sign that he could play on Sunday.

Our View:Keep watching for updates, but right now, put Burress in your lineup until you hear otherwise.
October 23, 2008
Plaxico Burress had to visit the hospital to have his sore neck looked at, and though there is no structural damage, his availability for the Giants game against Pittsburgh is in question, according to the Lower Hudson Journal News.

Our View:Burress has had a solid year, even with his one-game suspension, so missing the game would certainly hurt fantasy owners. He is listed as questionable, but unless his neck soreness clears up, it's unlikely he'll see the field.
October 23, 2008
Giants wideout Plaxico Burress drew a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty in last week's game, and when head coach Tom Coughlin asked what he was doing, Burress remarked, "Anything I [expletive] want to do," according to Pro Football Weekly.

Our View:Burress is not exactly a model citizen or teammate, but he is the best receiver on the team. If no punishment has been yet handed down, it seems unlikely one will occur at this point.
October 23, 2008
Giants wideout Plaxico Burress was not practicing with the team on Thursday, according to the Newark Star-Ledger.

Our View:He has a sore neck and back, and though it is believed he will be ready to go Week 8, be sure to monitor his status before inserting him in your fantasy lineup.
October 22, 2008
Plaxico Burress apparently has a shoulder injury and a stiff neck, according to the NY Daily News.

Our View:He sat out practice, and was limited to riding a stationary bike. He is still believed to be ready to go for Week 8 when the Giants battle the Steelers this week, Burress' former team.
October 20, 2008
Plaxico Burress' X-ray on his pinkie revealed no fractured bones, according to the Star-Ledger.

Our View:He's wearing a splint and has the injured finger taped. The Giants are yet to determine his playing status for Week 8 at Pittsburgh, which was his former team.
October 19, 2008
After the Giants win over the 49ers Plaxico Burress revealed that he underwent X-rays on his finger, according to the Star-Ledger.

Our View:Rumors are coming out of New York that Burress has an re-aggravated a torn tendon in his pinky finger that he suffered in Week 2 versus the Packers. There is no word as of now how sever the injury is.
October 13, 2008
Plaxico Burress returned to the Giants off suspension and caught four passes for 58 yards and a touchdown in the Giants' loss to Cleveland.

Our View:Burress did not look like he had any rust on him. Only Eli Manning's poor night prevented Burress from having an even bigger impact.
October 6, 2008
Plaxico Burress is back with his teammates after being suspended for one game but it doesn't appear that he has turned over a new leaf, according to Slam Sports. We'll let him speak for himself. "I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. I got me some rest and was able to get away for a while and chill out and relax. Things like that happen...Some of the demands they ask me to do, I just don't meet. Maybe I have a problem with time or something, I don't know."

Our View:Wow, sounds like a great teammate. Let's see he admitted to violating rules and not really caring one flip about it. And he also said that he didn't lose any sleep over letting his teammates down. Where can we find a job like that?
September 29, 2008
Plaxico Burress has reached a settlement with the Giants to avoid a grievance with the NFL, according to the NY Daily News.

Our View:His fine has been reduced from $235,294 to $117,647. But he will still be suspended for Week 5. Domenik Hixon will start in his place against Seattle opposite Amami Toomer.
September 29, 2008
Plaxico Burress could reportedly face league discipline for failing to report two incidents that gave rise to the issuing of restraining orders against him, according to ProFootballTalk.com. Charley Casserly of the NFL Today said, "The league is now looking into possible discipline or counseling for him for this failure in violation of the Personal Conduct Policy."

Our View:Burress was never arrested. And when there’s no arrest or other charge, the obligation to make a report isn’t quite as clear. We will keep you posted on the situation.
September 28, 2008
The Giants could have been much tougher on Plaxico Burress, according to Adam Schefter of NFL Network. His one-game, two-week suspension could cost him a little over $235,000, but the club could have gone after as much as $11.5 million.

Our View:Due to language in his contract, Burress could have lost his future roster and other bonuses because he was suspended. Bottom line, fantasy owners should expect Plax back in Week 6.
September 27, 2008
ESPN.com reports that Plaxico Burress will agree to the one-game suspension in return for some financial relief. He had financial implications written into his offseason contract extension to address these very matters.

Our View:Burress and his agent had discussed appealing the suspension to the league, but it seems they will be ok with it as long as they aren't kept to their contractual agreement.
September 26, 2008
Plaxico Burress' one game suspension may not be upheld, according to The Journal News.

Our View:This is pure speculation from beat writer Mike Dougherty. The fact that Burress has apparently flaunted his disdain for team rules yet again would appear to be a huge strike against him playing since he was fully aware of how his failure to comply would result in harsh measures. Stay tuned.
September 24, 2008
The Plaxico Burress saga took another turn on Wednesday night when Northjersey.com reported that police have been called to the Giants receiver's home twice in the past two months. The police responded to two calls of a domestic dispute between Burress and his wife. It is not known if this is the reason that he was not at team meetings this week, which subsequently got him suspended.

Our View:This is a situation that is ever changing and news continues to roll in. What we do know is, as of right now Burress will not play in Week 5 and Amani Toomer will move into Giants No. 1 receiver slot.
September 24, 2008
Updating an earlier report, Plaxico Burress has filed a grievance with the NFL against the Giants for suspending him for two weeks and docking his pay, according to NFL.com.

Our View:Burress was scheduled to meet with team officials early this morning to explain why he would've violated team rules and failed to return several phone calls explaining his whereabouts. The Giants are on a bye this weekend, but Amani Toomer looks to be the Giants No. 1 receiver in Week 4 against Seattle while Burress serves his suspension.
September 24, 2008
Plaxico Burress has been suspended for two weeks due to insubordination, according to Fox Sports.

Our View:The Giants' top receiver was suspended for failing to show up for work on Monday and not responding to several phone calls by the team to explain his unexcused absence both Monday and Tuesday. Burress was scheduled to meet with team officials early this morning to explain why he would've violated team rules and failed to return several phone calls explaining his whereabouts. The team is on a bye this week, but Burress will miss Week 5 against Seattle, assuming the suspension stands.
September 18, 2008
Plaxico Burress looks to have a strong outing against the Bengals Sunday at the Meadowlands, as he has three 100-yard efforts against them, dating back to his days with Pittsburgh.

Our View:Cornerback Johnathan Joseph is still in a walking boot while dealing with a sprained ankle and safety Dexter Jackson is out of practice with a thumb injury. Burress is a must-start this week, and racked up 15 receptions for 214 yards and a score over his first two games.
September 14, 2008
Plaxico Burress caught five balls for 81 yards and a score Sunday in the blowout win over the Rams.

Our View:Burress sure likes that new contract. He has 214 yards and a score in his first two contests.
September 4, 2008
Plaxico Burress led all receivers Thursday night as he caught 10 passes for 133 yards. No other receiver on New York had more than two catches.

Our View:Burress continues to have great chemistry with Eli Manning. Plaxico picked up where he left off last year, as an elite fantasy WR. Continue to start him as a WR1.
September 4, 2008
Giants signed WR Plaxico Burress to a five-year, $35 million contract, according to Profootballtalk.com. Burress will make $11 million in 2008.

Our View:With the departure of Jeremy Shockey and the slew of young recievers on the roster, we can expect Plaxico to continue to be the Giants best receiver for many years to come. Plaxico is an elite fantasy WR, start him as one.
August 31, 2008
Wide receiver Plaxico Burress went through another full practice on Sunday. This time, Burress went full-speed and worked without limitations. "Nobody’s more excited than me," Burress informs the New York Daily News. "I’m back out there doing some of the things I wasn’t able to do over the past year or so. I’m getting my feet back under me and getting into game shape." He has been bothered by a sprained right ankle.

Our View:A lack of practice time didn't hurt Burress much in 2007, and we're hoping his down time in August won't lead to a slow start in September. Fantasy owners should plan on using him in Week 1.
August 18, 2008
Plaxico Burress did not practice Saturday and will not play Monday night against the Browns, according to the Star-Ledger.

Our View:He practiced in a limited capacity on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, but was out Saturday due to lingering ankle soreness. It's uncertain if he'll practice when the team returns to work at Giants Stadium on Wednesday. He previously guaranteed that he will be ready to play in Week 1 against Washington.
August 14, 2008
Plaxico Burress guarantees he will be ready to play in Week 1 against Washington, according to the NY Daily News. His injured right ankle is doing well. His bigger issue at the moment is getting used to the orthotics that he’s now required to wear in both shoes (because, he said, he’s got flat feet). As a result, both of his feet are sore, and he said the orthotics are going to take some getting used to.

Our View:Burress noted he will not return to practice fully until he is 100 percent, but he expects to be near that by the time the Giants play the Redskins, which will be a Thursday night game.
August 12, 2008
Plaxico Burress made his first practice in pads this season, according to the AP. He did not go full bore, but did run a few routes.

Our View:Burress has an ankle injury, so he has missed all of camp. He also wants a new contract, though this injury situation is not believed to be some type of ploy. Burress is a valuable commodity on fantasy squads, so his improving health is an encouraging sign.
August 10, 2008
Plaxico Burress' injured right ankle is improving, according to Newsday. Coach Tom Coughlin said, "They think he is making progress and he's excited about it. I think his running has increased and hopefully we'll get something done here."

Our View:Burress has been wearing specially made shoes with orthotics both on and off the field for about a week. Coughlin is hoping to have Burress back on the field before the team leaves Albany next weekend.
August 5, 2008
Assistant general manager Kevin Abrams and agent Drew Rosenhaus engaged in contract talks regarding Plaxico Burress on Tuesday, the AP confirms.

Our View:Talking is good. It's no secret that Plax wants a new deal, but the talented receiver has also said he won't let the issue affect him once the season starts.
August 3, 2008
Plaxico Burress (ankle) did some running on Sunday for the first time since camp opened, according to NFL.com.

Our View:The current issue has nothing to do with the health concerns Burress faced last year, but that doesn't make it any less concerning. He proved last year he could excel at less than 100 percent, hopefully he won't have to do so again this season.
August 1, 2008
The New York Giants have made little progress in their talks with wide receiver Plaxico Burress, and negotiations on a new contract may soon come to a screeching halt, according to the Newark Star-Ledger.

Our View:Burress hasn't been practicing because of an ankle injury, and for his part, he says he's just moved on and is not thinking about his contract. Fantasy owners hope so, as he is a valuable asset at the WR position who hauled in 12 touchdown grabs last season.
July 28, 2008
Coach Tom Coughlin stated that Plaxico Burress is expected to return to Giants' practice within the next few days, according to the Star-Ledger. Burress is dealing with a different ankle injury than the one that bothered him in 2007. Coughlin said, "This is different. It's not the same problem. I just think it's a little bit of structure and something he's going to have to deal with. Same ankle, but not the same injury."

Our View:Burress will be closely monitored, but Coughlin doesn't seem too concerned about the ailment right now.
July 27, 2008
There was speculation that Plaxico Burress' ankle injury was staged for him to avoid team practices, but team physician Russ Warren confirmed that his ankle injury is legit, according to the Star-Ledger.

Our View:Plax is going to sit out at least until the middle of next week.
July 26, 2008
Updating an ongoing bit of concern in Giants camp, receiver Plaxico Burress has reported for training camp but is currently claiming an ankle injury to avoid working with the team. However, there are indications that suggest Burress is attempting to stage a holdout by simply avoiding these practices while still being onhand and avoiding financial consequqnce, according to the New York Post.

Our View:Back in June during mini-camp, a reporter with the Post had asked Burress about his various injury concerns (including minor ankle, knee, finger, and shoulder injuries) to which Plaxico claimed he was near 100% healthy. Now he fains an ankle injury and reports indicate coach Tom Coughlin is being short and frustrated with the questions that come as a result. We'll keep you posted on this situation as it moves forward.
July 24, 2008
Plaxico Burress will only practice once a day during training camp, according to the Star-Ledger.

Our View:Once a day is better than not at all, as he is still looking for a contract extension with the team.
July 21, 2008
Plaxico Burress plans to show up a training camp on Thursday, even if he doesn't have a new contract. "Plaxico will be at camp regardless of the status of the negotiations. We’ve been able to separate the negotiations from what Plax has to do for the team," agent Drew Rosenhaus informs the New York Daily News.

Our View:It sounds like the two parties remain close on a contract extension. Burress will remain a high-end fantasy receiver, although he may feel a bit more defensive heat now that Jeremy Shockey is gone.
July 19, 2008
Plaxico Burress said in a Q&A with SI's Arash Markazi that a new deal between he and the Giants is imminent. The wideout anticipates being on the field at the start of training camp.

Our View:It was looking like an agreement was close a little over a week ago, so don't consider this a done deal just yet. However, it sounds like Plax will be in camp on time, so his fantasy owners needn't worry.
July 10, 2008
In the continued saga that is the contractual status of Giants receiver Plaxico Burress , new reports assert the team and their top receiver are close to reaching a new agreement on a contract extension that will likely extend the commitment to just one or two more years, according to John Clayton with ESPN.com.

Our View:Clayton reports the team is unwilling to offer an extended deal with lucrative numbers, but the possibility of making Burress a top-paid NFL target for the next year or two is being discussed and would appease both sides. Clayton also notes the Giants are likely to require Burress' attendence at OTAs and other non-essential team functions as part of such a deal. We'll keep you posted.
July 9, 2008
Plaxico Burress previously said he promises to participate in training camp regardless if he inks a new deal or not, but now he stated he is unsure if he will report to camp on time, according to ESPN.

Our View:He has received positive feedback in negotiations for a new deal, and still expects to get a raise within the next few weeks.
July 7, 2008
Back in early June Plaxico Burress vowed he wouldn't step foot on the practice field until he received a new contract, but he has now stated that he promises to participate in training camp and is confident a new deal will be reached, according to the NY Post. He believes he will ink a new deal before camp and said, "I'm getting good feedback. I think it's going to get done. I'm not concerned about it. I don't want to go anywhere, I'm happy here in New York, I just want to make sure I'm here for a long time." Burress has three years remaining on the deal he signed with the Giants in 2005, and is scheduled to make $3.25 million this season and a total of $7.25 million in the next two years.

Our View:Want some more good news? He also believes he is close to 100 percent healthy again. He said his knee is already 100 percent, and his ankle is around 90 percent. He cannot remember the last time he has played pain-free.
June 18, 2008
Plaxico Burress doesn't believe his contract dispute will cause him to miss any training camp time, the Newark Star-Ledger reports. "Honestly, I think my situation is going to be rectified before training camp," Burress says in an interview with Sportsradio 610 WIP-AM in Philadelphia. "I'm not going to worry about it, but I did state that I was unhappy with my current situation with my contract. It'll be worked out... I don't want to go anywhere. I made that very evident."

Our View:If Plax does indeed show up on July 25, we'll have no reason to worry about his fantasy value. Burress had an excellent 2007 despite missing the offseason and nearly all of camp and the preseason due to ankle woes. This current missed time is nothing in comparison.
June 11, 2008
On the day when everyone expected tight end Jeremy Shockey to be the one making headlines, it was wide receiver Plaxico Burress who dropped the bomb: He's not participating in mini-camp because he's unhappy with his contract, according to the Newark Star-Ledger. "Me and my agent (Drew Rosenhaus) have been trying to get a deal done, so I can (be) a New York Giant for a long time," Burress said today. "I personally don't like the way its going. I'm not happy about it and I'm going to choose not to participate."

Our View:There were quiet rumors earlier in the offseason that Burress wasn't happy with his contract situation. He signed a 6-year, $25 million deal in 2005, and is slated to earn $10 million over the next three seasons. Burress seemed to indicate that his contract holdout may last into training camp at the end of next month. While this is a situation to monitor closely, keep in mind most of the time these types of matters get worked out before the season starts.

Plaxico Burress is not expected to fully practice when the Giants open training camp, according to the Star-Ledger.

Our View:He is recovering from the knee and ankle injuries that bothered him in 2007. He fought through the ailments to rack up 1,025 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns, and should be ready to go for Week 1.

Plaxico Burress is not expected to participate in the New York Giants’ offseason program because he is rehabbing ankle, knee and shoulder injuries, according to the Newark Star-Ledger. Burress played through the ankle injury all season, but this is the first report of a shoulder injury, which is described as a slight AC joint separation. Burress is also interested in renegotiating his contract, which could put his presence at mini-camps in jeopardy.

New York Giants' season ticket holders are going to pay about $7 more per ticket to watch the Super Bowl champions next season, according to CBS Sports. The Giants sent letters to ticket holders this week informing them of the roughly eight percent increase. Last season, the average price of a ticket was $83.29, which ranked 12th out of the 32 teams in the NFL. Things are tough all over, but the organization has to find a way to pay for wide receiver Plaxico Burress' new deal.

Plaxico Burress is agitated about the recent signing of Javon Walker to a massive contract, according to the New York Star-Ledger. Walker, who was coming off an injury-marred campaign, received a six-year deal worth $55 million from Oakland, including $16 million in guaranteed money. Walker is now making twice as much money as Burress, who signed his contract back in 2005. During the past three seasons, Burress has started 46 games for New York - compiling 209 receptions, 3,227 yards and 29 touchdowns. He is due to make $3.25 million in 2008 and $10.5 million over the next three seasons.

The NFL Network reports that Giants wide out Plaxico Burress will ask the New York front office to rework his contract. Burress is currently playing under a six-year, $25 million deal in which he collected $8.25 million in bonuses three years ago. Burress' game winning touchdown catch in Super Bowl XLII and his huge NFC Championship performance has obviously inspired his agent to strike while the iron is hot.

Plaxico Burress missed his third consecutive practice on Friday due to his sore knee and ankle, according to the New York Daily News. "He's improved," coach Tom Coughlin said. "He's done it all year under all kinds of circumstances. We've just got to be hopeful he can do it one more time." Coughlin was confident that Burress would be ready to play in the Super Bowl, though the wide receiver's listed as questionable, but the bigger concern might be completing the game.

It remains unclear whether Plaxico Burress will be able to take part in Friday's practice due to his sore knee and ankle, according to the New York Daily News. "It’s a day-to-day thing with Plaxico right now," coach Tom Coughlin said. "He was better yesterday than he was the day before. Hopefully he’ll be better today. He does have the ankle which been an issue all year long. Whether it has anything to do with it or not, the knee has (also) been a problem in the past. The swelling has been reduced somewhat. To say what he’ll do today, I won’t know until he gets over there." Burress barely practiced all season and played great, so expect him to play Sunday in the biggest game of his career. Only time will tell if either injury slows him during the game, though.
