Newsbreakers
September 3, 2008
Jamal Lewis is expected to practice today, according to the Browns' official website. He has been dealing with a hamstring injury and coach Romeo Crennel said, "He'll be out there. He'll be listed as limited, so we'll see what he can do. The more he can do, the more we'll give him to do."

Our View:Lewis looks to be a good bet to play in Week 1 against Dallas, assuming he gets through Wednesday's practice without a problem.

Jamal Lewis sat out Monday's practice, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Our View:He is expected to try to play Sunday against Dallas, but the team wants to give his ailing hamstring a few more days to heal.
August 29, 2008
Jamal Lewis is expected to practice next week and be ready to play in Week 1 against the Cowboys, according to the Akron Beacon Journal. He has been recovering from a hamstring strain.

Our View:Lewis would be a top-15 fantasy running back if he can stay healthy this season, and is worth targeting as a No. 2 option now that it looks like he will be good to go for the season opener.
August 27, 2008
Browns running back Jamal Lewis is making progress from a hamstring strain and should be ready to go in the team's season opening game, according to the Canton Repository.

Our View:Lewis got back on the fantasy radar with a 1,300 yard, 11 total touchdown season, and he remains the Browns featured back. Injuries have been a problem with him in the past, but he is a solid contributor to fantasy squads when healthy.
July 30, 2008
Jamal Lewis is in amazing shape according to the Browns' website. He has checked in "lighter and looks even younger than he did last season."

Our View:Lewis tallied 1300-plus yards a season ago on top of 11 touchdowns. He is consistently undervalued in drafts but should finish among the top-15 rushers with a healthy season. The Browns are a big threat through the air meaning teams will not be able to stack it in on the powerful back as they did when he played for the Ravens. Given that more and more teams are using a committee approach at the position, Lewis is one of the more reliable selections for a second running back on fantasy squads.
