Broncos center Tom Nalen, who had surgery on his knee in the offseason, had been practicing with the team for more than a week, but head coach Mike Shanahan held him out of Thursday's practice because he did not think he was ready to go, according to the Rocky Mountain News.

Our View:Nalen was deemed healthy enough to practice last week but did not play in the team's game. His status for this week is unknown, but being taken out of practice is not a promising sign.

Center Tom Nalen practiced on Wednesday for the first time since having arthroscopic knee surgery nearly three weeks ago. Head coach Mike Shanahan said that Nalen will also get some reps on the scout team to get back in to shape, according to the Denver Post.

Our View:Nalen is not ready to get back on the field as of yet, but is working hard to get back to help out the Broncos running game.

Yesterday Broncos center Tom Nalen returned to practice, hoping to start taking part in team activities as he continues to recover from a bone bruise in his left knee. Today we have learned the veteran center will have another surgery on his ailing left knee Thursday, according to the Denver Post.

Our View:Nalen, in his 15th year with the Broncos, first had an arthroscopic procedure to repair torn cartilage in June. He participated the first week of training camp, but had to shut it down because of soreness. Broncos coach Mike Shanahan described the procedure Nalen will have Friday as a clean-up with hopes that Nalen will be ready to play by the season opener September 8th at Oakland. Fantasy owners should play close attention, but there is no need to make major adjustments. The addition of Casey Weigmann has Denver in good shape to move forward without Nalen, and while the additional loss of retired tackle Matt Lepsis has been a concern, it appears the Denver line is on track to perform well once again in 2008.

Broncos center Tom Nalen has returned to practice with the team, but did not participate in team drills, according to Sporting News Today. Nalen is suffering from a bone bruise in his left knee.

Our View:Nalen is an important part of the team's offensive line, so the sooner he can resume his duties, the better for fantasy owners who invested in Selvin Young.
