Matt Hasselbeck returned to practice Monday and expects to start Sunday against the Bills, according to the AP. Hasselbeck participated in just his second full practice since injuring his back close to a month ago.

Our View:This is good news, but he will remain a risky fantasy option, especially when you consider the current state of the Seahawks' receiving corps. The Bills' defense will present a tough match-up as well.

Matt Hasselbeck did not travel with the Seahawks for Monday's game at San Diego due to his sore back, according to The News Tribune.

Our View:He was not going to play anyway, and coach Mike Holmgren didn't want to risk making his back ailment worse from the rigors of a plane flight. He is expected to be ready for Week 1, but is a risky fantasy prospect, especially when you consider the current state of the Seahawks' receiving corps.

Matt Hasselbeck is uncertain to play in the Seahawks' next preseason game due to back stiffness, according to the Seattle Times.

Our View:Charlie Frye is likely to get the start at quarterback Monday against San Diego. Hasselbeck's back is still sore and tight, but coach Mike Holmgren is not very concerned, and expects him to be ready to go for Week 1.
August 19, 2008
After practicing for the first time in about a week due to back stiffness, Seattle quarterback Matt Hasselbeck was forced to leave practice on Tuesday when the malady flared up on him, according to the Tacoma News Tribune.

Our View:No word on whether this is a minor setback or something more serious. Hasselbeck was supposed to be ready to play in the team's preseason game against the Bears, though that could obviously change.
August 19, 2008
Seattle quarterback Matt Hasselbeck returned to the practice field after missing much of last week and the team's preseason contest against Chicago because of a sore back, according to the Tacoma News Tribune.

Our View:Hasselbeck is ready to go and will play in the team's upcoming preseason contest.
August 14, 2008
Matt Hasselbeck has returned to practice Thursday, according to the Seattle Times.

Our View:Hasselbeck may miss the next preseason game Saturday, but should get plenty of work in during the Seahawks' third exhibition outing.
August 13, 2008
Seahawks quarterback Matt Hasselbeck is still nursing a sore back, and he has sat out three practices in a row, making it highly unlikely he will play in the team's preseason game Saturday against the Bears, according to the Tacoma News Tribune.

Our View:This is likely just a precautionary move, as the injury is supposedly minor. Hasselbeck missing one preseason game isn't going to affect him during the season.
August 11, 2008
Matt Hasselbeck sat out practice Monday as he is nursing a sore back, according to the Seattle Times.

Our View:The ailment is believed to be minor, and fantasy owners should be more concerned with the state of the Seahawks' receiving corps, which is already without Deion Branch, and just lost Bobby Engram for 6-8 weeks.

Seattle Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren said surgery forced him to miss two days of minicamp, although he wouldn't say what was wrong, according to ESPN. "I didn't die, all right?" a smiling Holmgren said Thursday after the team's final minicamp practice. "No, I had a little surgery done on Monday. That's all I'm really going to say about it. I just need a little time to recover from it and we're all set."

Our View:Holmgren, who turns 60 on Sunday, is beginning his 10th and final season as the Seahawks' coach. He said that until training camp begins July 25 he will go to his cabin in Northern California to read, ride his motorcycle and spend time with family.
June 11, 2008
Seattle Seahawks head coach Mike Holmgren missed a second consecutive day of mini-camp Tuesday with what a team spokesman continued to emphasize was a minor but undisclosed medical condition, according to ESPN.

Our View:Holmgren, who turns 60 on Sunday and is entering his 10th as Seattle's coach, is expected on the field today. "If it was serious, we would have made sure you already knew about it," a Seahawks spokesman said of Holmgren's issue.

The Seattle Seahawks just issued an e-mail announcing a press conference today with Mike Holmgren and Tim Ruskell at 12:30 p.m. PST, according to the Tacoma News Tribune. The announcement didn't have any other specifics; however, there’s speculation that running back Shaun Alexander has either restructured his contract, or the team has signed cornerback Marcus Trufant to a contract extension. Stay tuned.

Matt Hasselbeck, like AFC representative Ben Roethlisberger, didn't contribute much in the way of yardage in Sunday's Pro Bowl, but did find Redskins tight end Chris Cooley for a 17-yard touchdown in the second quarter of the 42-30 win over the AFC. Hasselbeck was 7-of-9 for 78 yards and the one touchdown.
February 9, 2008
The Seattle Seahawks have decided on their replacement of QB Coach Jim Zorn who left to move on to the Redskins. Ironically, Seattle's new QB Coach will be former Redskins QB Coach Bill Lazor. Lazor worked closely with Jason Campbell last season and is credited with helping Campbell to become a solid NFL QB. Seattle Times

The Seattle Seahawks have agreed in principle to a five-year contract extension with Jim Mora Jr., according to ESPN.com. Mora has been promoted to assistant head coach, and will also continue to focus on the defensive backfield. This situation is similar to the one in Indianapolis involving Tony Dungy and Jim Caldwell. It appears that Mora will takeover as the head coach in 2008 after Mike Holmgren retires.

Matt Hasselbeck (wrist) had a full practice Tuesday and isn't in any danger of missing Saturday's playoff game with Washington. No need to make an adjustment on your playoff cheat sheets.
