Injuries
Newsbreakers
Brook Lopez, FThursday 9/4, 11:13 AM CT
After playing on the strong side - near the ball - at Stanford, the New Jersey Nets plan to play center Brook Lopez on the weak side - away from the ball - in their new dribble-motion offense, according to the Newark Star-Ledger.

Our View:Lopez did not run this style at Stanford, but says he is comfortable in it because this is the offense he played in during high school. Either way, Lopez likely won't be a big-time contributor immediately for fantasy owners.
Josh Boone, FSunday 8/24, 9:59 AM CT
Josh Boone admits he's willing to fight for his job as the starting center again in camp, according to the Newark Star-Ledger. "Everybody wants to play. Everyone wants to keep his spot. I'm going to do whatever I can to keep my spot," he said. "And if it so happens that somebody beats me out - which hopefully is not gonna happen, I'm going to do everything in my power not to (let it) - if that's the case, he's still my teammate and I want to win."

Our View:The Nets added top rookie Brook Lopez via the draft and he is expected to win the starting job, but it appears Boone is going to push him for the honor. He emerged from a six-man race last season, and we know he has the heart to compete. We'll see how it goes, but Lopez is rather talented and is getting paid too much money to spend much time on the bench.
Yi Jianlian, FMonday 8/11, 4:27 PM CT
Yi Jianlian has failed to impress anyone at the Olympic Games so far, especially in China's loss to the Americans when he went 0-for-6 in the first half, according to ESPN.com.

Our View:Yi finished with nine points on 4-for-13 shooting, but the Nets might be a little nervous after seeing Jianlian look so terrible on such a big stage after acquiring him this off-season.
