November 13, 2008
Corey Maggette may not play on Thursday due to his strained left hamstring, according to the Contra Costa Times.

Our View:Maggette is worth keeping on your roster, so just bench him until he's ready to return to action.
November 6, 2008
The AP reports that Corey Maggette was held out of Wednesday's game against the Nuggets with a strained left hamstring.

Our View:Kelenna Azubuike played very well in his place. The severity of the injury is not yet known, but Maggette has a history of being a little bit injury prone.
November 2, 2008
Corey Maggette scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as the Warriors won on the road in New Jersey 105-97. Although he shot just 3-for-13 from the floor, he was 13-for-15 from the line.

Our View:Maggette has 26 rebounds through three games which is an unexpected stat for his owners. Maggette gets to the line as much as anyone in the league and he typically converts his attempts.
October 30, 2008
Corey Maggette scored 27 points on just 11 shots in his Warriors' debut on Wednesday. He also contributed eight rebounds in the loss to the Hornets.

Our View:Maggette certainly knows how to score. He put up 22.1 points per game with the Clippers last season and that number should jump this season in a much more fantasy-friendly environment with Golden State.
October 28, 2008
Corey Maggette, who is recovering from a strained hamstring, practiced Monday, according to the SF Chronicle.

Our View:The source states he could be ready for Wednesday's season opener.
October 27, 2008
Corey Maggette is questionable for the Warriors' season opener Wednesday due to his strained right hamstring, according to 48minutes.net. He said, "It’s still not ready yet. We’re just waiting. I’m hopeful every day. I’m trying to rest it and get the soreness out, be able to run and explode. If I can’t do that, there’s no point trying to get on the court."

Our View:It’s likely that he won’t practice Monday and Tuesday and will test the ailing leg at Wednesday’s shootaround to determine if he’s ready to play. We will keep you posted on his status.
October 26, 2008

October 23, 2008
Corey Maggette MRI on his hamstring came back negative, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. He still expects to be ready for the season opener.

October 23, 2008
Corey Maggette will have an MRI on his strained hamstring, but he does not believe it is serious and thinks he'll be ready to play in the team's opening game next Wednesday, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Our View:Maggette, who signed a $50 million free agent deal with the squad, did not practice Wednesday and will not practice on Thursday, either.
October 15, 2008
Corey Maggette scored 16 points with four assists in Wednesday's 98-94 loss to the Bucks in China. He also notched two rebounds and a steal. He played 21 minutes.

Our View:The Warriors will have good depth this season, but Maggette should still play enough minutes per night to average 20 points.
October 5, 2008
Corey Maggette, in his first game in a Warriors uniform, went 5-for-9 from the field and 3-for-4 from the line on his way to 13 points and five rebounds in 28 minutes of action on Sunday night.

Our View:Maggette will have to handle the bulk of the scoring load in the early going for the Warriors with Monta Ellis on the bench. While his scoring total may dip a bit once the club is fully healthy, he appears to be a good bet to score 20 points a game, something he has done in three of the past five seasons.
July 10, 2008
Accoriding to PA Sports Ticker, the Golden State Warriors have signed Corey Maggette to a multi-year contract. Terms have not been disclosed.

Our View:Don Nelson's style of play could inflate Maggette's numbers even more, look for Maggette to put up huge numbers in Golden State this season.
July 8, 2008
Corey Maggette will sign with the Warriors on Wednesday, according to ESPN.com.

Our View:Don Nelson is still loading up on scorers. This move likely pushes the young phenom, Monta Ellis, to point guard and puts Maggette on the wing with Stephen Jackson. We know Maggette can score in bunches (22.1 ppg last season) and he will get that opportunity next season with Golden State.
July 8, 2008
Corey Maggette is said to be a top candidate to sign with the Spurs, according to the Boston Globe. Talks between Maggette and the Spurs are serious and he was previously leaning toward signing with the team, but no deal is imminent.

Our View:The Spurs are believed to have offered Maggette a multi-year deal, starting with their $5.8 million mid-level exception. The Celtics have made an offer to Maggette as well however, one he told the Boston Globe on Thursday he is seriously considering. Orlando is believed to have dropped out of the race for him.
July 4, 2008
Corey Maggette is seriously considering joining the Boston Celtics after their coach, Doc Rivers, made a personal pitch to him, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View:This move would diminish Maggette's fantasy value somewhat. With Paul Pierce and Ray Allen in the mix, it is unlikely Maggette would see the 35 minutes a night he got in Los Angeles.
July 2, 2008
Updating an earlier report, Boston Celtics GM Danny Ainge is now telling reporters the Celts have not offered free-agent guard Corey Maggette a new contract, according to the Boston Herald.

Our View:Ainge has reportedly talked to several players, including Maggette, without making an offer. Maggette is reportedly getting interest from several teams, but Boston was believed to be the first to offer an actual deal. It now appears that is not the case.
July 2, 2008
Aside from the Celtics, who have already offered him a contract, Corey Maggette is being sought after by the Heat, Magic, and Jazz, according to the Deseret News.

Our View:So far, the teams with cap space have not pursued Maggette and it looks like it will be a sign-and-trade deal if he wants to leave L.A. The amount of teams courting him means that the offers will continue to increase. From our viewpoint, Maggette would see the most minutes and scoring opportunities in Utah.
July 1, 2008
The Celtics have offered a contract to Corey Maggette, according to the Boston Globe. The terms of the offer were not disclosed.

Our View:The most the Celtics could offer is the mid-level exception (about $5.8 million), so Maggette would take a pay cut to have a shot to win a championship with Boston.
July 1, 2008
The Los Angeles Clippers would like to retain free agent Corey Maggette, according to the Associated Press. Clippers president Andy Roeser said he will be aggressive in order to get him and Elton Brand to stay.

Our View:Maggette was the team's leading scorer, and replacing 22 points a night is not easy to do. Despite his average three-point shooting, he is a quality player on fantasy squads as well, putting up 5.6 rebounds, 2.7 assists and one steal per game to go with those points.
June 30, 2008
Corey Maggette, who plans to opt of the final year of his contract with the Clippers, said he would like to join the Magic, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

Our View:He would like to return to Orlando, where he began his career, but the Magic cannot afford him. They have all their money locked up in five players (Dwight Howard, Rashard Lewis, Jameer Nelson, Hedo Turkoglu and Tony Battie). They are looking to fill out their roster with serviceable players they can sign at a low price, not Maggette, who would be due $7 million from the Clippers next season.
June 26, 2008
Corey Maggette plans to opt out of the final year of his contract by Monday, the Los Angeles Times reports. The swingman would be due $7 million next season. Maggette would like to stay with the Clippers, but the franchise might work out a sign-and-trade deal.

Our View:We'd think there would be a decent trade market for a guy with Maggette's considerable scoring talents. He's always struck us as a bit of a one-sided player, but he is darn good at that one attribute (scoring, getting to the line). The Clippers are in a weird transition period with guys like Maggette and Elton Brand, and nothing that franchise does would surprise us.
June 24, 2008
Corey Maggette, a restricted free agent of the Los Angeles Clippers, could be going to Phoenix. ESPN.com's Chad Ford tells us Maggette and the no. 7 pick may go to Phoenix for Leandro Barbosa and the no. 15 selection.

Our View:Why L.A. would give up the better player and the higher pick to get a younger version of somebody else on their roster (Cuttino Mobley) makes very little sense to us. Chad Ford might just be blowing more hot air, which is very typical for this time of year.
April 12, 2008
Corey Maggette is listed as probable to play on Saturday, according to the Contra Costa Times.

Our View:He missed two games with a strained hamstring, and would be a welcome addition back to the lineup, as the averages 22.2 points per contest.
April 8, 2008

February 28, 2008
Corey Maggette rebounded from his worst game of the month, 11 points, by scoring 32 points on Wednesday night. Corey, as he often does, earned a large portion of his points from the line as he made 15 of 18 free ones while hauling in three boards. Only two Clippers scored in double figures, the other was Tim Thomas who had 21 points, as the Clippers were held to just 80 points thanks to a miserable 31.2% mark from the field.
February 26, 2008
Corey Maggette was only 4-for-12 from the line and just 3-for-6 from the free-throw line as he totaled just 11 points on Monday night. Maggette came into this game averaging 25.9 points over his last nine games, a streak in which he scored at least 19 points in each game.
February 9, 2008
Corey Maggette led the Clippers with 26 points on 9-for-17 shooting in the Clippers 101-80 loss to the Sixers. Maggette got to the line, as he always does, going 7-for-8 from the charity stripe. Maggette has been on fire over the past four games scoring an average of 28.3 points per game, well above his season average of 21.6 entering the game.
February 8, 2008
Corey Maggette tied his season high with 35 points and added nine rebounds and two assists in Friday night's win at Toronto.
February 4, 2008
Corey Maggette, who missed the last four games due to the flu, returned to the lineup on Monday night and scored 19 points in the Clippers 103-94 victory over the hapless Knicks. Chris Kamen, who also missed the last four games, had 15 points and nine boards in a game in which HC Mike Dunleavy Sr. was replaced by assistant coach Kim Hughes because he was suffering from the flu.
February 1, 2008
Corey Maggette did not travel with the Clippers to Minnesota on Thursday, as he continues to deal with a case of the flu, according to the LA Times. If he's feeling better Friday morning, he may try to catch up with the team for tonight's game against the T-Wolves. Clearly, he's iffy at best to play or perform well.
January 31, 2008
Corey Maggette (flu) didn't travel with the Clippers to Minnesota Thursday, though he still might join the team in time for Friday's game, the Orange County Register reports. Have other options ready to go, just in case.
