June 25, 2008 The Denver Nuggets traded their first round pick in Thursday's 2008 Entry Draft to Charlotte in exchange for a protected first round selection, according to the Our View:The Nuggets were forced into this move because of a bulging payroll pushing $90 million which figures to be about $20 million over the luxury tax threshold in 2008. |

June 20, 2008 Allen Iverson decided not to opt out of his contract as he was able to, and instead he will remain with the Nuggets in the upcoming season, according to the Our View:Iverson will make almost $21 million in the final year of his four year contract, so it's no shock to anyone that he opted to stay in Denver. Plus, he has often said he wants to end his career in the Rocky Mountains anyway. |

May 31, 2008 Reports out of Denver indicate the Nuggets are looking to sign guard Allen Iverson to a new contract extension, according to the Our View:Gary Moore, personal manager for Iverson, has told the News the team has contacted Iverson's agent to discuss a multiyear contract. Iverson has a June 20th opt-out clause in his current deal and the Nuggets would like to secure his services before he gets to make that decision. We will update as news becomes available. |
