The Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday signed free agent center and Atlanta native Randolph Morris , according to the Sports Ticker. The 6-foot-11, 260-pound Morris saw limited action in two seasons with the New York Knicks after entering the NBA as a free agent from Kentucky in 2005. In 23 career games in New York, he averaged 2.6 points and 2.0 rebounds in 10 minutes of action.

Our View:Randolph simply provides emergency depth on the Hawks and does not figure to be a fantasy impact this season or ever.

Knicks center Randolph Morris was arrested early Tuesday and charged with reckless driving according to the AP. He was arrested by Lexington police in Kentucky and released on $100 bond with a court appearance scheduled for later Tuesday.

Our View:While we don’t condone reckless driving, it certainly isn’t enough that it will have any bearing on Morris’ status with the Knicks for this season.

The Knicks signed free-agent center Randolph Morris to a two-year contract Friday, adding the former Kentucky star to their roster thanks to an unusual provision in the NBA's collective bargaining agreement, the AP reports. Morris, Kentucky's leading scorer this season, declared himself eligible for the 2005 draft following his freshman year but was not selected. He decided to return to school and played two more seasons.
