Newsbreakers
December 4, 2008
Alex Rodriguez will play for the Dominican Republic in the World Baseball Classic, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:A-Rod will probably be fine for the 2009 season, as usually only pitchers are of great concern with over-exerting themselves during the spring.
November 13, 2008
Alex Rodriguez was awarded his 10th Silver Slugger award on Thursday, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:A-Rod was a solid fantasy option again in 2008. He should remain just as valuable to fantasy owners in 2009 after coming off his 11th straight season of 35+ home runs and 100+ RBI.
September 27, 2008
Saturday's game between the Yankees and the Red Sox has been postponed due to inclement weather. It will be made up as the second game of a day/night doubleheader at 7:35 on Sunday.

Our View:The Yankees are going to miss the playoffs for the first time in 13 years.
September 17, 2008
Alex Rodriguez became the first player ever to tally 35 home runs and 100 RBI in 12 seasons. He hit his 35th home run of the season off of Scott Linebrink in the eighth inning of Wednesday's 5-1 win over the White Sox.

Our View:Well, we guess now we can admit that he's pretty darn good. A-Rod has 11 RBI over his last 12 games, but he's hit just .190 in that time.
September 14, 2008
Alex Rodriguez hit his 34th home run and drove in four runs to push his season total to 100 on Sunday.

Our View:This is the 11th straight year that Arod has gone 30-100, which just so happens to be the second longest streak in baseball history (Jimmie Foxx, 1929-40). This also marks the 11th straight year he has gone 30-100 with 100 runs, which is the longest streak in history. He may not have produced the over the top numbers that he has in the past, but his current line of .307-34-100-101-17 is still pretty spectacular.
