The Washington Nationals have optioned outfielder Kory Castro to Triple-A Columbus, making room on the roster for newly-acquired Anderson Hernandez, according to the Washington Post.

Our View:The Nats intend to use Castro as their utility wild card moving forward, but today, they need room to add the infielder coming from the Mets, the player to be named later in the deal that sent reliever Luis Ayala to New York.

Kory Castro will be a part of the Nationals future moving forward, according to MLB.com. Castro will see time at third base, outfield and first base the rest of the way, the only in support of the Nationals starters.

Our View:Castro likely won't be anything more than a lefty bat off the bench for the time being, but he could offer enough versatility, which when combined with playing time, could give him some value in NL only leagues.

Washington wasn't an offensive juggernaut tonight, but they found the hits needed to get the 5-0 win over Arizona with first outfielder Kory Castro leading the way. Castro went 2-for-3 at the plate with one walk and his fourth double of the season to total two RBIs and one run scored on the night.

Our View:There's no reason to launch Castro into your starting lineup, boasting this as just his second multi-hit game this season.
