September 25, 2008 Collin Balester's start against the Marlins on Thursday was cancelled. The game will not be made up and it's not certain if he will start tomorrow. Our View:Balester is 3-6 with a 4.83 ERA this season. He will be given the opportunity to make the Nationals' 2009 rotation. |

September 14, 2008 Collin Balester was at his best on Sunday as he held the Marlins to just one run over 6.2 innings. On the afternoon, Collin allowed four hits, walked three, and struck out five. Our View:Balester doesn't strike out many batters at 5.52 K/9, and his K/BB is poor (1.67), so only target him if you are in need of innings in an NL-only league, and even then he isn't a great play. |

Balester pitched 5 1/3 innings, allowing one run on six hits with two walks and five strikeouts. Our View:The win brings Balester to 2-3 with a 4.55 ERA on the season. He has seen the sixth inning just one over six starts but has allowed just six earned runs over his last three. |
