German Duran has been recalled to the Rangers less than two weeks after he was sent down, according to the Star Telegram. Bill White was also added to the roster.

Our View:Duran will be a spare part and have no fantasy value with the Rangers since the club already has Chris Davis at third base and entrenched in the starting lineup, not to mention that Ian Kinsler is expected back in action in about a week at second base.

Infielder German Duran has been optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma, according to the Sports Network. The team activated Vincente Padilla from the DL, and Duran was viewed as expendable to free up a roster spot.

Our View:Duran held little fantasy value prior to his demotion, as he was hitting .225 with three homers and 11 RBI over 102 at-bats.

The Rangers recalled German Duran from Triple-A Oklahoma Sunday. To make room on the roster, Elizardo Ramirez was designated for assignment.

Our View:Duran is starting at third today and hitting last in the lineup.

The Dallas News reports that right-handed pitcher Kameron Loe and infielder German Duran were optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma on Thursday night.

Our View:The moves were made to make room for pitcher Kevin Millwood, who starts tonight after coming off the disabled list (strained right groin), and third baseman Travis Metcalf.

German Duran is expected to be sent down to Triple-A before Friday's game, according to MLB.com. The Rangers would like to give Duran regular playing time, which they haven't been able to do at the big-league level. Travis Metcalf will be recalled to replace him.

Our View:Ramon Vazquez has started each of the last four games at third and is hitting the ball well. Duran has more upside than Metcalf, so there's no point in him wasting away on the bench when he could be playing every day in the minors.

German Duran is playing fewer and fewer games in a platoon at third base, and the team is considering sending him to Triple-A to get regular at-bats and playing time, according to the Dallas Morning News. Manager Ron Washington said, "He continues to fight. We'll make a decision on what is best for him and for the organization. He could probably benefit from getting back to playing."

Our View:Duran is only hitting .193 with one homer and four RBI over 57 at-bats, with 15 strikeouts. He was given a chance to prove his worth with Hank Blalock out of action at third base, but he failed to come through.

Rookie infielder German Duran provided the only fireworks in Sunday's 3-1 loss to the A's. Duran hit his first career home run in the third inning. It was also his first career extra-base hit.

Our View:Duran is getting an extended look due to injuries (namely Hank Blalock). The rookie can hit and play three infield positions, and he could end up sticking around in a utility role.

German Duran is starting at second base against Oakland tonight, according to the Dallas Morning News. Ian Kinsler has been scratched due to a sore hamstring.

Our View:Duran is only 4-for-19 (.211) with no homers or RBI and isn't worth targeting for your fantasy squad. The team also said that Kinsler's injury isn't expected to keep him out of the lineup very long.
April 23, 2008
Manager Ron Washington is planning on getting more right-handed hitters into his lineup against Tigers' lefty Kenny Rogers tonight, and German Duran is likely to start in left field, according to MLB.com. He previously started a game in Boston and Manager Washington commented, "He certainly handled himself well in Fenway. I don't know if the Green Monster had anything to do with it, but we'll see if he can roam around this outfield."

Our View:Duran has one hit over five at-bats, with three strikeouts. He is not worth acquiring for tonight's match-up at Comerica.

Marlon Byrd (knee) was placed on the 15-day disabled list, this according to the Star Telegram. German Duran was called up from Triple-A Oklahoma to take Byrd's spot.

Our View:With a stiff back, Hank Blalock is out of tonight's starting lineup, allowing Duran to make his major-league debut at third base. The replacement receives the pleasure of facing former Cy Young winner Roy Halladay tonight. Blalock (who might not be ready to play again until Sunday) will give way to Duran until he is healthy enough to return.
