Charlie Morton is dealing with fatigue in his shoulder and he plans on working hard this off-season to strengthen the area, according to the Braves Official Website. "I don't even know what it is," Morton said of his scapula (shoulder). "It's just an issue that I need to take care of."

Our View:Morton has produced some pretty awful results this with a 6.15 ERA and a 1.62 WHIP, but he would likely have been left in the minors this season if the Braves rotation hadn't been so beat up. As it stands, he has thrown a career-high 153.2 innings.

Charlie Morton has been receiving cortisone shots in his injured shoulder, but with each shot providing less relief than the last, chances are his 2008 season is over, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

Our View:Rookie James Parr has tossed 12 scoreless innings in Morton's place in the rotation, so it's not like they miss his presence. Parr on the other hand is one of those guys you can roster if you are in need of a couple of starts down the stretch.

Charlie Morton may be done for the season. MLB.com reports that the right-hander has been shut down for at least 10 days after complaining of back discomfort.

Our View:The rookie hurler claims he does not know what caused the persistent back discomfort that he's felt for nearly two months but one theory is simply being a part of the Braves' rotation. In 15 starts, he has accumulated a 6.32 ERA and a 1.62 WHIP.

Charlie Morton has been optioned to Triple-A Richmond, according to the AP. Right-handed pitcher Elmer Dessens was activated as the corresponding move.

Our View:Morton failed to impress the Braves over 14 starts with a 4-8 record, 6.10 ERA, and 1.59 WHIP.

Charlie Morton won his first home game of the season on Thursday night as he held the Marlins to four hits, two walks and two runs in six innings of work.

Our View:Prior to this game Morton was 0-6 with a 8.18 ERA in Atlanta, and though he looked good tonight, his prospects moving forward aren't anything to get too excited about.
