Newsbreakers
September 27, 2008
The Union-Tribune reports that Scott Patterson suffered a herniated disc while lifting weights.

Our View:He is likely out for the season and was never a fantasy factor. He showed well in his only four Major League appearances.
September 21, 2008
Reliever Scott Patterson has a stiff back and will be unavailable for a while, though exactly how long is not known, according to Padres.com.

Our View:The Padres claimed Patterson off waivers from the Yankees ten days ago, and is irrelevant in fantasy leagues.
June 3, 2008
The Yankees optioned Scott Patterson to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Tuesday. He allowed a run on a hit and two walks over 1 1/3 innings in his lone appearance with the Yanks.

Our View:You shouldn't have Patterson on your roster, but feel free to cut him loose if you do.
June 2, 2008
Right-hander Scott Patterson has been called up from Triple-A Scranton on Sunday, according to the NY Daily News.

Our View:He pitched Sunday against the Twins, and allowed one run, one hit, and two walks over 1.1 innings of action, along with two strikeouts. That was his big-league debut. The team needed an extra arm for their pen following Saturday's 12th inning victory against Minnesota. Patterson has little to no fantasy value.
June 1, 2008
The Yankees will call up reliever Scott Patterson on Sunday, the New York Daily News reports. The 28-year-old right-hander is 1-0 with a 3.04 ERA over 22 appearances at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Our View:The Yankees need an extra arm (or two) for the bullpen, especially since Joba Chamberlain will make a limited start on Tuesday. Patterson has not fantasy value.
