Our View:Metcalf showed good power, with four home runs in 42 at-bats, but he walked just once and struck out ten times, so his plate discipline clearly needs work before he'll be able to contribute to fantasy squads. |

March 11, 2008 Travis Metcalf is expected to have surgery, according to the Dallas News. The needed procedure will cut out part of his left hamstring tendon. He tore part of the tendon while running the bases during game action on Friday . Metcalf stated that the procedure takes about 15 minutes and he will probably be out six to eight weeks. He will need at least three weeks of rehab before he can get back into playing shape. |
