August 18, 2008 Carlos Gomez was benched for the second game in a row Monday. The youngster has struck out 112 times and has a horrid .286 on-base percentage this year. "I want him to think about those things, and continue to work hard. He'll be fine. He's game on, no matter what we do," manager Ron Gardenhire said. Our View:Gomez is usable in fantasy leagues that don't count OBP, but his lack of selectivity at the plate, if he doesn't improve, will hold him back from ever being a star. |
