Sean Gallagher was solid for 6.2 innings on Sunday as he held the Mariners to three runs on four hits and three walks in a no-decision.

Our View:Gallagher has looked very good after missing about three weeks due to injury with a 2.04 ERA over his last 17.2 innings. He has the makeup and stuff to be a winner making him a nice mid round play in 2009 in AL-only leagues.

Sean Gallagher made his second appearance since being activated from the DL (shoulder fatigue) on Tuesday night and pitched very well against the AL West champion Angels. He tossed seven innings allowing just one run on four hits. He struck out seven.

Our View:This was arguably Gallagher's best appearance of the season and is something positive for the young starter to build upon. He is just 22 years-old but will likely become a member of the A's opening day rotation next season.

Sean Gallagher was activated by the Oakland Athletics on Wednesday, and he started the team's game against Detroit, according to The Sports Network.

Our View:Gallagher was troubled by shoulder fatigue, but it seems to be behind him, as he threw four innings of no-hit ball before being removed. He struck out six but the rust was clear, as he also walked six.

MLB.com reports that Sean Gallagher threw 75 pitches in a rehab start with Triple-A Sacramento on Thursday, feeling no lingering effects of the shoulder fatigue that has kept him out of the rotation since Aug. 19. "I feel good," Gallagher said Saturday. "I felt good going out there and was able to locate my pitches and pitch how I wanted to pitch, and how I know I'm able to."

Our View:Gallagher will start on Wednesday but don't get excited. He is a below average fantasy player for now, but he will likely be a full-time member of the A's 2009 rotation.
August 25, 2008
Sean Gallagher, who is recovering from right shoulder fatigue, is set to resume throwing today, according to the SF Chronicle.

Our View:He isn't expected back before mid-September. He is only worth holding onto in deeper AL-only leagues.
