Mark Reynolds struck out twice on Sunday to extend his major league record to 204 for the season.

Our View:Reynolds also committed an error in the game giving him 35 on the year.

Diamondbacks third baseman Mark Reynolds has set a new record, according to DBacks.com. With his second inning strikeout in St. Louis on Thursday, he has become the first person in the long history of major league baseball to strike out 200 times in one season.

Our View:Congratualtions must go out to Reynolds for accomplishing this historic feat. The team has a few more games left, so it is likely he will fan at least a few more times this season.

Mark Reynolds struck out for the 199th time and made is 34th error of the season in the Diamondbacks 2-4 loss in St. Louis on Wednesday.

Our View:Sure he's got 28 home runs and 94 RBI, but Reynolds is one of the biggest defensive liabilities in the game. He will have to find his way over to the AL if he hopes to prolong his career.

Arizona's Mark Reynolds is nearing the dubious distinction of becoming the first player in the history of baseball to strikeout 200 times - that is, unless Ryan Howard does it first, according to the Arizona Republic.

Our View:Howard currently has 190 strikeouts to Reynolds' 187. The all-time record is 199, set by Howard. It seems quite possible that both could end up flying past the mark this year.

Mark Reynolds has been taking ground balls at second base during batting practice, according to DBacks.com. Outfielder Justin Upton will make his return soon, and to get the best offense on the field, it could lead Reynolds to second, Chad Tracy to third and Adam Dunn to first.

Our View:Reynolds owners should be happy to hear this news, as he would soon become eligible to play second in fantasy leagues. Which means Reynolds could be replacing a hitter who does not have much power (outside of the Chase Utley's of the world, of course). That would open up rosters for adding another third baseman with the potential for more long balls.
