September 27, 2008 Brian Wilson blew his sixth save of the season on Friday night to the Dodgers by giving up two home runs and three runs in the ninth. Our View:Owners may be surprised to hear that Wilson, and his 4.70 ERA, has blown just six saves this season. He has 66 strikeouts in 61.1 innings pitched this season but has a knack to get himself into jams with a 1.43 WHIP. Still, 40 saves puts him in line to be the Giants' closer again in 2009. |

September 21, 2008 Brian Wilson recorded his 40th save of the season on Sunday as he hit 100 mph on the radar gun a couple of times. Our View:No one questions the heat with Wilson, the questions revolve around a lack of secondary pitches and a propensity to put too many runners on base (he owns a 1.41 WHIP and a 4.18 BB/9). Wilson is locked in to the closers role in '09, but he could once again be a bumpy ride. |

September 10, 2008 Brian Wilson blew a second straight save chance to the D'backs on Wednesday allowing two runs on one hit and two walks, though in both games the Giants came back to win. Our View:This was his fifth blown save of the year and his ERA is up to 4.55 with these two poor outing outings. Still, Wilson is in no danger of losing his closers spot and he is just three saves short of a 40 effort campaign. |

August 24, 2008 Brian Wilson has been solid though unspectacular for the Giants, but he still has 35 saves on the season, including one in Saturday's 7-4 win over the Padres.
