The Pirates acquired Craig Hansen from the Red Sox as part of the Manny Ramirez deal.

Our View:Hansen was once viewed as Boston's closer of the future, but his star has fallen dramatically since then. However, with the Bucs having limited options, he could get a chance to close right away.

As expected, the Red Sox recalled Craig Hansen from Triple-A Pawtucket on Monday.

Our View:The Red Sox now have eight arms in their bullpen as they prepare for some hard fought road contests that start in Detroit on Monday.

The Red Sox will called up reliever Craig Hansen on Monday, the Providence Journal confirms. He will replace outfielder Brandon Moss, who underwent an appendectomy on Saturday.

Our View:Hansen has pitched well at Triple-A this year, but he has yet to prove he can do it at the major league level. Plus, he has not chance to get saves while Jonathan Papelbon is around.

Our View:Hansen is still in the team's plans moving forward, but with each passing missed opportunity, the window for him being an impact reliever is shrinking.

Craig Hansen was recalled from Triple-A by the Red Sox on Wednesday to take the spot of demoted David Pauley, this according to the AP.

Our View:A former 2005 first round draft pick, Hansen has taken much longer than expected to contribute to the Sox bullpen, but he has allowed only three hits in 12.1 IP at Pawtucket, so perhaps now is the time that he will finally be able to contribute, albeit in nothing more than a 6th or 7th inning role to start.
