Chris Carter has been recalled from Triple-A Pawtucket, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View:Carter was acquired from the Nationals in the Wily Mo Pena deal. Carter can play first base as well as the outfield, but won't likely see enough playing time to garner fantasy interest.

The Red Sox optioned Chris Carter to Triple-A Pawtucket Friday. Carter picked up two hits in his three at-bats with the club.

Our View:The Sox needed another outfielder, so Brandon Moss was recalled.
June 3, 2008
First baseman Chris Carter has been called up from Triple-A Pawtuckett, according to the Providence Journal. He has been brought in to fill the roster spot for David Ortiz, who landed on the DL.

Our View:The 25-year-old is in his first full season with the Red Sox organization. Boston acquired him from Washington last August to complete the trade that sent Wily Mo Pena to the Nationals. Carter is hitting .316 with 10 homers and 35 RBI for Pawtuckett over 56 games this season. Brandon Moss was believed to be the likely candidate to get called up, especially after he was named the International League Batter of the Week yesterday after hitting four home runs, but the club opted for Carter instead. Carter could provide solid depth to Boston, but won't likely see enough at-bats to merit fantasy consideration.
April 18, 2008
Chris Carter went 5-for-6 with three RBI on Friday for Triple-A Pawtucket.

Our View:Carter, a former first base prospect with the Diamondbacks, is making a switch to left field. He has been a hitting and on-base machine at every minor league level, but there have always been questions about his defense. He is hitting .344 this season and hit .316-19-88 last season between Double-A and Triple-A, so someone will probably find a spot for him to play, even if the Red Sox don’t have room.
