Newsbreakers
November 14, 2008
The Nationals have signed Pete Orr to a minor league deal, according to MLB.com. If Orr makes the big league club, he could earn $600,000. Orr said, "They have interest in me coming back and I have interest in coming back. I would not say it's the end in Washington. I would say it's more of a numbers move, I guess."

Our View:Orr failed to display any power with no homers over 49 games with the Nationals last season, and struck out 16 times over 75 at-bats. He won't likely make an impact if he works his way back up to the majors in 2009.
October 30, 2008
Infielder Pete Orr was sent to Triple-A Syracuse on Thursday, according to MLB.com.

Our View:Orr declined the demotion and now is considered a free agent.
September 28, 2008
Pete Orr went 2-for-4 in Sunday's 8-3 loss to the Phillies. Both of his knocks were singles.

Our View:He registered two hits in two of his last three games, but the 29-year-old will never challenge for a role as a regular starter.
July 1, 2008
Infielder Pete Orr has been optioned to Triple-A Columbus, according to the AP.

Our View:Orr went 2-for-11 (.182) with the Nationals during his brief stint, and held no fantasy value.
June 21, 2008
The Nationals recalled Pete Orr from Triple-A Columbus Saturday. He was hitting .267 with two homers and 15 steals with Columbus.

Our View:Orr will serve as a backup all over the infield. His fantasy value is minimal.
