Jason Ellison has been designated for assignment by the Rangers, according to the AP. The Rangers recalled outfielder Nelson Cruz from Triple-A Oklahoma as the adjoining move.

Our View:Ellis failed to make an impact during his brief stint with Texas, as he only registered three hits (all singles) over 13 at-bats.

Jason Ellison has been recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma, according to the Star-Telegram. The team placed David Murphy on the 15-day DL as the corresponding move.

Our View:Murphy is out 2-4 weeks, and Ellison will see action in his place in right field. The team preferred him over John Mayberry, as Ellison provides more speed, which is needed with Milton Bradley also out of action. Ellison is worth a look in AL-only leagues right now.
October 11, 2007
Jason Ellison refused an assignment to Triple-A on Thursday, choosing to become a free agent instead. In 94 at-bats this year, he hit .234 with one homer. Ellison should catch on as a reserve outfielder somewhere, but he's not going to have any fantasy value no matter where he goes.
August 8, 2007
The Reds claimed Jason Ellison off waivers from the Mariners Wednesday. Ellison is expected to join the Reds on Thursday, when they will make a corresponding roster move, according to the AP. He hit .283 in 46 at-bats with Seattle this year after coming over from San Francisco in a trade just before the season.
