Jorge Cantu continues to crush. On Friday, his victims were from Philadelphia and were witnesses to his 3-for-5 performance. He hit his 31st home run of the season, scored three times, and tallied two more RBI.

Our View:Cantu has been absolutely stroking it over the past week. He is 14-for-34 with six home runs in his past eight games. They haven't been meaningless hits either. He has racked up 18 RBI in the process.

MLB.com reports that Jorge Cantu connected on a solo homer to left-center and thus launched the Marlins into the record books. It was the third baseman's 25th blast of the season. The Marlins became the first team in Major League Baseball history to boast four infielders with at least 25 homers apiece. Cantu joins first baseman Mike Jacobs (32), second baseman Dan Uggla (30) and shortstop Hanley Ramirez (29) as the first foursome to achieve the benchmark.

Our View:Cantu replaced superstar Miguel Cabrera at the start of the season, and many figured Cabrera's departure meant a drop in power. Not so fast. Not only is it amazing that it has taken over 100 years for this milestone to be achieved, but what makes it more remarkable is that this quartet combined to make less than two million dollars this season. Congratulations to the incredibly underrated Florida management staff and their team for this achievement.

Jorge Cantu was given the day off on Wednesday in the Marlins game against the Phillies, according to FloridaMarlins.com. He apparently has issues with both his back and elbow.

Our View:Cantu has had a solid year for fantasy owners, hitting .273 with 24 home runs and 78 RBI. There is no word on if he will miss extended time or is simply getting a rest.
September 9, 2008
Jorge Cantu was 2-for-4 which included his 24th home run of the year helping the Marlins beat the Phillies, 10-8.

Our View:After a rough August maybe Cantu is trying to turn it on in the last month of the season.
