June 17, 2008 The Yankees officially placed Chien-Ming Wang on the DL Tuesday. The righty will miss at least six weeks, and likely more, with a mid-foot sprain of the Lisfranc ligament and a partial tear of the peroneal longus tendon in his right foot, according to Our View:It's possible Wang's season is over, though the Yankees hope he can return not long after the All-Star break. Dan Giese will take his spot in the rotation for the time being. |

This is a tough loss for the Yankees' rotation, and the team is already dealing with injuries to Phil Hughes and Ian Kennedy. The team is yet to name a replacement for Wang. |
