Newsbreakers
August 27, 2008
We are receiving word that Texas slugger Josh Hamilton has been listed as a last-minute scratch in tonight's matchup against Kansas City, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Our View:Brandon Boggs is playing left and Marlon Byrd is moving to center. A local beat reporter with the News indicates Hamilton was having dental work done earlier in the day and may be in need of rest as a result. Thus we see no immediate reason for alarm.
August 20, 2008
The Rangers made sure to pack their bats for battle with Detroit tonight, winning 9-1 with contributions (as always) from outfielder Josh Hamilton. Hamilton went 3-for-5 at the dish with his fourth triple and his 29th homer of the season, totaling one RBI and one run scored on the night.

Our View:Hamilton continues to hit the long ball, now touting four homers with 11 RBIs and 13 runs scored for August.
August 17, 2008
The Rangers tried to overcome two tough innings but fell just a bit short, taking the 7-4 loss against the Tampa Bay Rays. As usual, outfielder Josh Hamilton was the leader of the charge, going 2-for-4 at the plate with one walk and one double, totaling two RBIs on the night.

Our View:Hamilton has slowed a bit, hitting just .265 through August with three homers and eight RBIs coming into tonight.
August 15, 2008
Josh Hamilton is back in the lineup Friday after missing Thursday's game to attend the birth of his child, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Our View:Fantasy owners get Josh back a day early, as he wasn't expected to return to the team until Saturday.
August 13, 2008
We reported the Rangers had pulled Josh Hamilton in the 6th inning of their battle with Boston this evening, and we have now learned why, according to Boston Globe.

Our View:Hamilton's wife has gone into labor, and Josh is on his way to be with her for the birth of their child.
