August 24, 2008 Cubs first baseman Derrek Lee did not start Sunday in the series finale against the Washington Nationals because of spasms on the left side of his neck and back, but said he was available to play, according to Our View:Lee came out of Saturday's game after an awkward swing aggravated his back. He had a similar problem in May 2007, and was sidelined for one week. |

August 22, 2008 Derrek Lee went 2-for-4 and hit his 18th home run of the season, but it was not enough as the Cubs fell to the Washington Nationals by a score of 13-5. Our View:Lee had not hit a home run in nearly a month, since July 27, so fantasy owners have to be pleased with the power. Overall it's been a solid but unspectacular season for Lee. |
