Prospects and talented rookies have gotten their opportunities to showcase their talents during the first few weeks of the 2008-09 NHL season. Many have developed strong niche roles on their respective clubs, while others have struggled to find their stride in this young season. In comparison to veteran players, the young rookie hopefuls have many more years to learn and develop. A number of these rookies will benefit from playing at the minor league level with the American Hockey League team affiliates, while others will accelerate their overall development playing at the junior level from which they were drafted.Associate Editor
