On Friday night, Ron Hornaday Jr. entered the Ford 200 Craftsman Truck Series race needing to only finish ahead of Johnny Benson Jr. to make up three points and win the championship. If they ended the race tied in points, the tie-breaker would have gone to Hornaday, and most of the evening he was the leader of the two. The difference came down to one driver deciding to pit for four tires and the other staying on track. Ultimately, Hornaday finished only a single position behind Benson and lost the championship by the narrowest of margins, but that serves to illustrate how difficult it can be to overtake the point leader in the finale. Carl Edwards was certainly paying attention yesterday; he asked television commentator Bob Dillner about the race several times during practice.Senior Editor
