Confidence plays a key role in the development and overall success achieved by NHL rookies. In some cases, over-confidence is generally accepted more than being intimidated by playing for the big club. Many rookies must express a certain degree of confidence to be able to handle the rigors of a physically demanding season and deal with the day-to-day pressures of playing in the NHL.
