Confidence plays a key role in the development and overall success achieved by NHL rookies. In some cases, over-confidence is generally accepted more than being intimidated by playing for the big club. Many rookies must express a certain degree of confidence to be able to handle the rigors of a physically demanding season and deal with the day-to-day pressures of playing in the NHL. For certain players in recent years, such as Sidney Crosby or Alexander Ovechkin, the level of confidence these superstars exuded in their respective rookie seasons was quite high from the start.Associate Editor
