Rookie debuts are usually filled with high expectations. Whether it is a regular season debut or the first game of an emerging NHL career, rookie debuts are usually uneventful. For most rookies, the first game of the season represents a chance to showcase one’s talent for the upper management before being sent down to the minors for further development or being relegated to the bench or the fourth line.
